OMG these are beautiful! Worlds beyond the cheapo boxes I been making for myself and using since I began vaping! But I gotta keep it cheap... However if I did decide to splurge on a wood mod I would have to pick up one of these works of art : )

Yep. Then one particular mod pops out as a must have, and you put your name down. Then while you wait Vaughan comes up with five or ten new "must have" options and you sign up for a second

Well my fresh batch of bf pins from fdv is a bust. I ordered the ss ones this time for the longer bottle tube nipple and perceived higher quality... Not the case. After running the oak/bone mod a bit I've found the spring pressure is weak, making a poor contact on the base of the atty and the nipple has noticeable "play" which allows plenty of juice to seep back down the outside of the tube.
Back to the drawing board...

Anyone with experience with the fdv ss bf cores please share your thoughts, perhaps I just received a defective batch.

Yeah, they don't work, none of FDV BF options have ever worked

Are the 510's with the vented screws they use in the peko kits a viable option? I haven't seen Vaughans setup close enough to tell if they're similar.

The Peko 510 is can be used, but it doesn't have the wide flange

I did try these too, and found play as well, with leakage as a result! Try putting another little red o-ring under the step in the feed tube, and this will add pressure to the atty connection too. Even 3 orings have been used in the past. BobC is spot on, they are a pain, with the short brass FD core with 2 orings used is the best setup, aside from my new design.

I would like to use this as a start to figuring out numbers of new 510s to make and send over, for all to have access to them. They are well proven now with no issues showing up after the last small tweaks to the design.

Maybe somebody would like to put their hand up as an in between to forward them out around the U.S? The freight to post individually from here is similar to a whole mod (way more than the 510 is worth), so a US 'agent' (reimbursed of course) would be a possible way around this? thoughts?

Back on board now after a good few lazy days and family time over Xmas....with a few extra pounds in tow!

The new 510 works best with 79mm+ from the bottom of the body (bottom cap off) to the top of the top cap (underside of the 510 flange). Some of the early ones may be less than this, (with a bare body length around 71mm, later ones 74mm) Which I can get around by setting up as a short version with just one nut on the outer tube instead of 2. This is not as good a connection as with 2 but will still work fine. The normal new 510 will be the long version and the early
ones will be the short version. Please list your name and numbers required of long or short version.

I can do these for $30 excluding postage within the US (if someone wants to be the 'agent') for each including the new silver contact leaf, which will need a little sand paper to sand the end off the new contact leaf if necessary, and pliers to adjust the bend in the leaf to contact the neg rod. I will post pics later on of how to do this, it will be a very simple operation but will require another mod to use as it will be in bits for a half hour or so...

No 510 from any other mod will work as a retro fitment, no questions about this please as only my custom ones for this mod will work...I went through many options while developing these and found that only a ground up design will work.
