Pulled a sneaky today... and I'm so proud of myself!

Having long held to the theory that, if you're fighting fair you need to change your tactics, I changed my plans for my social engagement this evening.

Knowing that I would be pitted against Reo buying veterans and thus at a severe disadvantage I started to question my plan of monitoring the site while at the restaurant with my iPhone. That would pretty much be akin to taking a Q-Tip to a gunfight, not an optimal situation. Instead I put Plan B into operation.

Earlier this morning I phoned my dinner companion and floated the idea that perhaps she would like to drive up into the mountains for a home cooked Italian dinner. I sweetened the offer with the suggestion that prior to dinner we could sit on the pasture deck enjoy a glass of wine, (scotch for me, I don't drink squashed grapes), gaze at the grazing horses and absorb the beauty of the color turning Aspens. Shockingly she immediately accepted. (Flatlanders are so easy to please.)

A quick rum to the store secured the necessary ingredients to prepare a nice salad, manicotti shells to stuff with ricotta, parmesan and Romano cheeses, Italian sausage, (mild, I don't want to be burping all night) and ground beef for the sauce, a freshly baked loaf of Italian bread and the makings for a luxurious desert of Bananas Foster.

Most everything is already prepared, the shells are stuffed, sauce has been simmering for a couple hours, bread is in the oven waiting to be warmed and a bottle of wine for her is open and breathing. (I'm already testing the scotch... can never be too careful.)

Since she won't be here until 6:30 to 7:30 Mountain Time my luck in the sale should already be known but however it ends I will have given it my best shot.

There is one thing I'm starting to second guess myself over though... I wonder if I should have gotten a dessert that involved a can of whipped cream?

Good luck everyone... hope you all get your first choice.

Thanks! I have a different way to do it, and it does work. I was able to get two first choices of the VV Woodvil with my pre-sale setup!
