While everybody is here I have a question about multimeters. I was going to order that feed n wax stuff and get a multimeter too while I'm at it. Are the cheap ones as good as the $20 ones or should I spend the $20. There is one for like $9 and one for $12. Then there is an auto range for $20?

well, you got that right karen. i see why you love your wood. im very pleased that i went with what rob uses... the cocobolo. i can promise that if the back of this reo was shown in the pics on the site i wouldnt of got it as someone with quicker fingers than me would of snatched it
I'm quite impressed with the itty bitty batteries going on 7 hours and still going strong 
An update...I'm using mine with the door off...bottom feeding a carto with my diy chocolate and its much better! I'm not getting the varnish smell or taste now
Depends on the application. If you want to test batteries and atty/carto resistance, those are great. If you want to see what voltage your VV Woodvil is set at, you'll need an inline. You could probably manage an unloaded read but you'd need a third hand with a standard leads-on-a-wire multimeter. If you want to test it loaded to see what you're actually hitting, you need something like this.
You are right, of course, an inline is needed if you want to check loaded voltage
Coming from using this vv family for 14 months, most people I have run into don't seem that interested in checking the under load voltage, a general low cost meter to check resistance and batteries coming off the charger does what they need. The wheel interface quickly makes the precise value a don't care, you just adjust to taste then leave it there until you feel like changing it. I've known a fair number of people who bought the inline meters then didn't use them when they started using this kind of vv.
If you get the inline, a standard meter is still really good to have, since periodically checking batteries and resistances is handy to be able to do.

Very nice!!!!!!! I really dont fidget with the voltages too often. Mostly just find what I like and leave it. with occasional adjustments.I so missed VV! Now with the REO + VV its the best of both worlds!!!!!
