I was 15 in 1969 and working as a soda jerk at a neighborhood pharmacy. One afternoon my friend Pete flew through the doors and shouted "You gotta hear this!" He was holding Led Zeppelin's first album. When I got the album I'd wake up every morning before Jr. High, fumble my grey plastic Radio Shack headphones on, put the album on my Sears portable turntable and play Communication Breakdown at high volume over and over and over.
Since then I've developed the habit of starting every morning with something to get me easing into the day.
