So, yesterday I am sitting out in front of the house I was cleaning with my shiny stainless steel Volt78mm battery. It seemed like so many people were going by. People walking their dogs. People working at the model home next door. People making deliveries.

This is a small town I am working in and I felt very self conscious. I can't afford rumors to get started about the cleaning lady doing odd things in front of people's houses. So, I decided to get two of the white batteries with orange tips. That way, when people see me, they will just think I am smoking a ciggie.

Anybody else feel that way? Sometimes you just want to blend in with your e cig?

Yup sometimes at work, walking around, and when I'm at a bar with outside seating. I'm rocking my blue 650 mans with clearos for the first time going to work today. Walking to and waiting for the bus all I could think was man I'm sure I look like some freaky chick. Overall it's ok so far. I hadda take the one in use outta my front pocket to sit down on the bus and subway because I was nervous about leaking. What my office mate and the smokers say will be interesting, though everyone has been supportive of me.

I kinda like them not looking like cigs. It isn't a cigarette. One reason I love the X2s they don't look like a smoke. I typically use my blue 650 when I go to the hardware store or am out and about. My black 900 for when I am in the yard or doing some dirty work. My white 1300 is my relaxing one.

I only have had 1 person stop and ask what I had. She asked if it was I forget some name I never heard of. I said no it is a Volt. I was on a cruise and her english was hard to understand. She thought I was using it for nefarious means. I let her and her friend look at it. I told her I am using it to give up the smokes and the clearo had nicotine liquid in it. She said oh I guess it could be used for that.

I was using my white 1300 when a cop/detective showed up at my door. We talked outside as I was vacuuming the pool. and he never said a word about it. He was more interested in my transformer tablet.

The only person that says anything is my wife and kids and that I look funny. They call them daddy's pipe.

Yes! When I'm in places where cigarettes are permitted there are many times I prefer a white with faux filter cartomizer

I never really cared much if they looked like cigs but I went with non-red/orange LEDs cause I like they way they looked. I am glad I did that now.

I'm finishing off a degree and the university went "smoke free" last year. My volt cannot be mistaken for a cig at all. It's such a dumb policy anyway. Instead of cig butts being in mostly the smoking areas, now they're everywhere as people try to sneak them in between classes.

I personally have a pink, purple and red battery which I have blinged some with these really cool stickers that are for fingernails. lol. I like people knowing I'm not really smoking and killing myself. I also want to spread the word about e-cigs and figure the more familiar people get with seeing them being used, the better off this world will be! My friend and I met at Chili's for dinner last Friday night and we had a few questions from people. One young girl was so excited about it after trying mine. I think that's great! Keep spreading the word! :)

i don't want my PV to look like a stinky.

my orange 78mm has a orange led tip,but does not look like a hot ash.

personally myself i could care less what other folks think,if they want to talk about my PV,that is fine too.

While I don't think it would really look like a hot ash, I think people coming out to pick up their newspaper or walking their dogs would make the mental shorcut to "she's smoking a cig on her break." Then they wouldn't feel the need to talk to the owners and tell them I am doing weird things on my break. I only have a few jobs and I have been keeping them all happy for quite awhile. They all pay pretty good. I just don't want to loose any clients "mysteriously". And the client's tend to know each other so if one is weirding out then I might lose two. That is half my jobs:)

I'm semi retired.

What you may want to try is let them know you have quit smoking and are vaping instead. Many people would give you a thumbs up for that alone. We have 2 nice ladies that come to our home. 1 of them smokes. I told her to feel free to use our screened in porch. It is where I used to. I also gave her a SI card if she ever thought about switching and would give her a bat and some tips. I don't think she is interested but options are good.

These 3 devices are my current vaping gear. You could say they are huge; gaudy and attention getting, even. My guess is few people would mistake these as a "cigarette".

I am not at all afraid or self conscious to use these out in public. In parking lots, on the street, in the park, the Bengals intrasquad scrimmage, festivals, concerts, wherever I may have smoked analogs. I always have at least one of these on me, and have even taken a toot or two inside of the grocery store. I even stealth vape in the cinema. I have a leather lanyard for my smaller black BB mod. The other two larger mods I carry in a pocket.

No one really pays much attention to me. They may glance at the strange looking contraption that I appear to be "smoking", but I've never gotten a comment or even a dirty glance. I've vaped these right in front of cops (although not in a non-smoking area). I've never seen another vapor in public, other than once at the AltSmoke store/vaping lounge in Columbus, Ohio.

When I first started vaping with Smokeless Image Volts, I felt exactly like the majority of you. My beginner's kit had to look just like an analog. I had four white 78mm Volts. I quickly moved on to the X2's for more battery time, and then moved on further with my big battery mods with large capacity e-juice tanks. I no longer have any issues of vaping in public.

I actually believe the size of my large battery mods emphasizes that I am not smoking a cigarette. And maybe, because of my mature appearance, no one considers that I could be smoking an illegal substance. In my real experience, no one seems to give a :censored: .

I just wish more vapors were more confident to vape in public. Be proud of your accomplishment of quitting tobacco. Be a willing advocate of vaping and an educator to smokers that there really is a better way to quit. Every nonsmoker knows at least one person who does smoke, and a casual remark of recalling what they saw to a smoker may stir enough interest for them to seek more information.

"Hey, I just saw this dude smoking what he called an electronic cigarette. He said it wasn't really smoke, or tobacco, but called it vaping and the smoke was actually water vapor. He said this e-cigarette had nicotine which satisfies his nicotine cravings, but doesn't have any of the harmful cancer substances that burning tobacco has. Pretty cool."

Sitting down, facing forward.
It really doesn't matter to me if it "looks like a cigarette" or not. What people think is what they will think not matter what I use or even try to explain. I do want to be able to use it "no hands" just because it's convenient and I'm lazy. I do have three X2-650s I use if I have a free hand, like at the PC or watching TV or driving and having a little higher liquid capacity to go with them is nice, using clearos. I never minded carrying a spare pack of smokes or getting out the pack and lighter to light up another, so swapping out a CE3 or battery is no big deal. Maybe someday I'll end up dragging an Express wagon around with a few die hard tractor batteries, a 5 gallon bucket of juice with a pump and a 5/8" hose leading up to a 12 coil atomizer, but given the vapor output of CE3s and the life of a 78mm battery, I don't have a need for that. Whatever works of each of us is the right solution, mini, midi, or jagunda.

Blue I think it's hard for folks to wrap their heads around the concept of an ecig

Yeah you are correct

Bad, i have used my at quite a few reds games. I have had a weird glance or 2 but nothing said. Some dude lit up a cigarette and immediately people were complaing. My guess is the smell. We got hope for our beloved bengals this year.
