But i'd rather spend the money on R&D than on buying one to get what good pictures could give me. If someone owns one and wouldn't mind sending me some hi-res pictures of the bottom piece with all the parts disassembled and from a few angles that would be great.

If all goes well i'd like to offer these to the community at pretty much supply cost, i enjoy doing it so why charge for labor.

Also the UFS caught my eye, if you have one of those pics would be nice too.

Thanks for all the help

Might run into Legal trouble doing this. I really don't know if the company that sells these have applied for patents for the devices. I would suggest you R&D a original version, not cool at all to reverse engineer someone else idea and then offer to give it away for free just on moral grounds. On legal grounds you could end up in court for doing this. So my advise is find a open source rebuild-able atty or come up with you own design.

Imeo makes it perfectly clear to everyone that he has no patents, and no drive to attempt to get patents. He finds flattery in others need to copy him. As far as he is concerned, other people wanting to copy him, is just further proof that his is the best.

That having been said a direct copy would be a pretty douchy thing to do. Using the designs as a springboard though I can't imagine an issue with.
