Police departments should be educated on things like this. Thankfully we don't see a lot of ignorant backlash from the police but it is most definitely possible, from Po'dunk USA to Main Street.
I certainly don't blow it in anyone's face but we have to be ambassadors to the community. People are scared of new and strange things, even police, and typically when you scare the police things go poorly. I do my best to vape as openly and casually as possible, without being "that guy" blowing clouds into some soccer mom's face at the mall.
WE have to normalize the behavior to make sure that it becomes or continues to be socially acceptable.
Completely agree! I vape my face off thru every parking lot of every store we go to; then I put it away as I walk in. Then as I'm approaching the doors to leave, I pull it again. What little reaction it's gotten has been 99% positive; mostly interest and does it really work, is it as good as a cigarette, etc. Had one woman scowl at me in the Walmart parking lot; not sure if it was the vaping or just her general attitude. One chick very ostentatiously moved from one side of the doors to the other, while I was vaping up a strawberry scented cloud outside Target. Maybe she's a fruit nazi.
