I'm with harmonic on this one..
Granted there is no way for them to make up for the mistake or possible lost revenue of sales... There is a recourse and it's a simple one... they ship a new shipment immediately and a stand up company will make the shipment expedited at no additional fee if possible as an attempt to make up for the issue happening. I suspect GV had requested them shipped quickly to start with, so it's unlikely that there was a quicker method available...
