Well, if only some of the poorly worded or researched articles were true we would have already won. For instance according to this article the FDA wants the same thing we do.

Smokers, retailers: Proposed e-cig regulations have pros, cons#

"If the FDA gets its way in a federal trial, electronic cigarettes will be subject to all the laws that pertain to tobacco products."

I sent the reporter an email message via the station's web site providing her with accurate information regarding the legal issues. I invited her to download Judge Leon's opinion document from the CASAA.org web site.

If you haven't read it, give it a shot: http://www.casaa.org/files/SE-vs-FDA-Opinion.pdf

I lurked for a couple of months before becoming "Vocal" and now they can't shut me up!

And don't let them either. Keep shouting from the rooftops, just like I am doing. I have now gone on the attack against the FDA, ACS, AHA and any of the others I can think of and am accusing them of being directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of smokers every year due to their continued refusal to promote reduced harm smokeless alternatives when they have known for decades now that they are 98-99% safer than cigarette smoking. We have been made to feel like second class citizens and nothing better than hard core drug addicts for far too long now and I'm sick and tired of it. I'm fighting back, I'm fighting for my very life and I will not just shut up anymore.

Is there any place on the forum that lists either snail mail or email addresses of places or people like the FDA, AMA, NIH, legislators, CDC, etc? Tried searching, but kept getting an error, so unable to look right now. I'd love to have a list of the most important departments so to speak where letters of support for e-cigs can be sent.
Seems to me that the more vocal we can be, the better the odds are of getting favorable outcomes. I've noticed my doctors who at first blew me off when I tried to talk about e-cigs are now at least listening. Maybe some of them are starting to remember that oath they took that starts with "First, do no harm....."

Thank you very much, DC2...... I really appreciate your post. Now, let me ask you this ---- is there a "form letter" that would be better to send or is it better just to write your own feelings down in the letters? I don't want to say anything that might rock the boat, and know from being involved with other petition drives there were letters that were made available to send out. Just curious as to what you feel about the type of letter that is best to send.....
Thanking you in advance for your advice.... horton

I think Vocalek has posted a pseudo-form letter around here somewhere.
It includes a section with many facts that are great to include, and a section where you personalize it a bit.

I don't know how I would find it though, so you might want to wait until she posts again.

OK... will nose around a little and maybe get lucky and find it and if not, will wait for a re-post. It would be nice to have a template of sorts so all the necessary points get covered in the letters. May as well get as much bang for the buck when sending the letters. I'm so fed up with the govt. They have their collective noses in too much of our daily lives. My doc mentioned a med yesterday that he said would really help me, but a major side effect was a very, very high chance of cancer. Now, if the FDA will approve a drug like that, I'm not quite sure why they have their shorts in a twist over e-cigs. Maybe I need to re-take that logic course again......lol.
Thanks again for your help, DC2 --- we shall prevail in the end!!!! Power to the vapers!!!!
