This website has a problem that started about 10 hours ago or so.

When change page the browser will display the cached page even if the page has new posts. Before today it worked perfectly.

Now whenever i go back to a menu page I need to reload it after it has loaded in order to see any updates.

Can anyone else confirm this (if you have a clue whay I mean ;) ) ?

I'm seeing the same thing intermittently. I just posted a new thread in cart mods and don't see it at all. I'll clear cache and look again. . .

. . . After clearing my cache I do see the new post.

Kina--was happening yesderday as well and has been reported. Till then it is the F5 button.

Sun

Thanks Sun - nice to know I'm not going mad !

Or need a new computer ;)

I know quite a lot about websites, HTML, PHP etc but not sure how this could happen ...

If it was an idea to save bandwidth, not a good one as it will actually increase it.

It's really odd - when one sees there is a new post but on opening the page it is not there! Till manually reload the page ...

Yesterday started ? Yes, could be. I noticed a drop in posts numbers yesteraday (and today) that I thought was a bit odd. This could explain it - as people were not seeing new posts to reply to.

Yesterday was eerily quiet. Even looked out the window for signs of life ...

If you use firefox you can install the webdeveloper toolbar Web Developer - then disable cache (click the symbol that looks like a no entry sign) - the forum will then work correctly.

There is probably something similar for IE somewhere

I know what you mean but this is definitely something on the website server. I am currently working on my own website and always see changes with no problem. The browser default is to check the server for updates first, if no update and is in cache, use that. Now this website (only) is working differently. Your fix may work but should be unnecessary !

But thanks anyway. If my F5 button wears out, will delve into the dark world of Windows settings ...
