I guess I look at this different than other sports or hobbies because to me (and 2 years ago avery vaper) this is a hopefully healthier alternative to smoking. You did not have extreme smoking. Outside of some parlor tricks I never saw someone with more than one cigarette in their mouth to blow more smoke. I am on the record of acknowledging there is a hobby side to this, and that is a good thing, but as I talked about that two years ago, I felt it would be people collecting expensive mods and tanks that maybe reflect their personality. A lot of smokers collect really nice lighters. The e-cig boom has slowed down tremendously. We have to look at the reasons for that. Did the market get too saturated? Is it now looked at as too complicated? I'll be honest, my last relapse happened on a cruise ship. My kayfun lite kept leaking like crazy and after numerous attempts to try and fix it I got fed up and bought a carton of cigarettes at the duty free shop. I was a little frustrated that I had to bring a bag of tools and parts with me on vacation to get my nic fix, and that I had to spend so much time tinkering. I never put that much thought into smoking. I think most smokers want an easy fix that works. I've said it many times over the past two years, but the first company that masters the cigalike will make billions.

That's a bummer Ravens. Not trying to derail your intent...but as to the Kayfun Lite...they leak when there is too much wick I have found and can be tricky at first, easy to build...less easy to properly wick. If you care to venture to the dark side (lol) and extend your vape knowledge a bit more then I have to say that Squonking (i.e. a Reosmod) is hands down the least fuss way to go about vaping. Like everything there is a learning curve but it is a short one. Besides, box shaped mods can be sort of manly. ;)

If you find yourself interested in that at all hit up SuperXDrifter who actually has his dad using a Reo. He also has some good videos on youtube explaining the process.

Bottom line of what I get from your post is that like me, vaping is critical to your quitting smoking. And also like me, you don't want to see the careless or the rude of the world jeopardize something that will help us to our goal.

You can't eliminate jerks from the world. God knows if you or I could do that, the populace might be significantly smaller...LOL

What you can do, as Sparkky, Zoid, DC and many others have said, is to channel your anger and your passion into vaping education and legislation.

Someone once told me to only focus on things you can actually do something about and have an impact. Groups like CASAA and Vape Militia and supporting them will put your energy to work making an impact. Focusing on jerks will get you nothing but raised blood pressure. ;)

Thanks, I did adjust the wicking numerous times. The shop told me it would leak with too little wicking. It's amazing how many different stories you get. When I first got the Kayfun the flavor was amazing compared to the Nautilus I was using, but after a month the leaking started. I just bought an Atlantis, and I really like the flavor and it's somewhat simple. I dropped my nic from 12 to 6 and it was still hitting too hard on my Stingray, so I bought a Bap box and use it at 19W. That seems to be a good combination.

Excellent! I am pleased to hear that at least those issues are under control. :)

As to wicking, it can be a "this porridge is too hot...this porridge is too cold" type of thing. What is tough is that when you are new to something you have no frame of reference to judge by.....as much as I am not a fan of rip tripper's internet persona....this video has always worked best for my kayfun builds....if you haven't thrown them off a cliff that is...Lol

I have experience both sides of the coin in a B&M. I am an older female and I often get talked down to when going into a new store if not ignored completely until I start talking and show that I have a decent amount of knowledge about vaping. That drives me crazy!

On the other hand I have also been treated with respect and kindness. I go to the store that I like.

Also, don't be so quick to judge those of us with gaged ears and tattoos, we too hold down jobs, raise good kids and vape responsibly. :)

ETA: I also started vaping to kick a 30+ year habit. I think for me the hobby side helps to keep me vaping instead of smoking.

In regards to gauges and tattoos, I'll never understand why people in general are so judgmental about that. Almost every time there is a discussion about B&Ms, you have posters feeling the need to mention that the staff has gauged ears, tattoos, or both.

I'm 53 years old, retired military, and very conservative (meaning I'm not some "kid")....yet I try my best not to judge people based on their appearance, with the exception of someone in a suit and tie, because they give me the creeps, lol.

I think the point is behavior, not appearance.

If you look different AND you are a jackass, now you insult two groups of people. One, the group of people who look like you but are embarrassed by you and the people you actually offended.

If you are normal looking and a jackass, then people see you as another random tool but they have nothing else to associate it with.

You would not know to look at me but in my 20s I was a little punk chick with purple hair. This was the original wave of punk. I did my own observations about how people responded to me at the time....

My hair was my good person detector. If they could accept me without judgment, they were good in my book.

Some of my acquaintances were not so cool. I was embarrassed by them and instead of judging the behavior, people judged the look. I believe this to be human nature that few can rise above.

Also...even the most conservative of us if they are self aware in relation to others has to admit that in their 20s SOMETHING they did or a way they behaved was completely assinine. I can admit that. But unfortunately people are myopic to their own mistakes for a long while (earlier if justice or tragedy forces them to see it.)

In my case I did not see until I was 28 that what I thought was cool at 24 actually came off as arrogance or full of disregard.

ETA took out the ten years...there is no hard fixed Aha! time frame.

I have tattoo's AND I'm quite often told I'm a jerk, often right here on this forum.

But my tattoo's are not normally visible even with a short sleeve shirt (though that's going to be changing in the next year) and I hold a "white collar" job, have pieces of paper to say how smart I am (though they forgot to add the three letter posterior reference after smart) and am generally liked by my peers and co-workers (or at least they hide their disdain towards me really well).

With that being said, not one single time in my adult life have I looked at someone with tattoos regardless of where they are or piercings or any of the other individual choices and said to my self or on a forum, at least with this industry they now have a place they can get a job.

I know people are opinionated and that's what makes this world the unique and wonderful place it is. However when opinions get to that extreme of the fringe then the problem isn't the particular segment of the population getting pointed at but rather the person with three fingers pointing back at themselves!

I think you may have noticed that in general people say unkind things when they are angry or feel that they, their own or their rights are threatened. I can't say that I have never made a ugly statement in anger. Can you?

Oh I make ugly statements, hence my reference to being called a jerk on the very first line.

In fact it can be said that I make ugly statements so often that others I work with have "files" in the HR office, I have my own assigned filing cabinet.

I didn't realize they had an end date picked out already

...

The Submit date was set around the time that the FDA Request for Comment Period Started.

But like All Thing Government, it has been Pushed Back a Few Time.

First it was March. Then it was April. I think they then just Skipped May and went Straight to June.

The Sand is Starting to Run Out of the Glass. And our Phase One, I think, is Running behind Schedule. We have to Do a Better Job of Getting the Word Out to the General Vaping Population.

We need Less Talk/Debate about things here on the ECF. And More People writing getting Outside of the ECF to let the Other 96% of the Vaping Community know what is Coming.
