Hi folks,

First I want to share something that I just learned from this website (What's in This Stuff? – Open Source Vapor LLC) and it's about Saline (One of the biggest secrets of quality e-liquid is saline. It improves the mouth feel and it makes the flavors pop), if you don't know about it.

I have been making my own ejuice but I want to fine tune their taste, texture, feel, etc, etc.

What advice do you folks have? It will be beneficial that we all learn from each other and improve our vaping experience.

Thanks!

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine baces regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

If you've been DIYing for long enough that you're familiar with your recipes, pick up some sterile saline off Amazon or somewhere else and try it out. I found that I had to reduce the flavor level with it, but over time I have debated the value of it versus the decreased coil life. I believe it's worth trying, but be aware there is a trade-off.

Saline (.9%) is somthing I use in all my mixes. Mostly for the fact of thinning my heavy VG juice but it also seems to "pop" some flavors. I don't personally notice much from desserts or tobbaco types but it does seem to benifit fruits and candy types.
just want to add that this is NOT the saline used for contact solution. It is .9% saline for first aid as a wound wash and such.
