Karen, Your dolls are amazing!! So lifelike I expect them to cry.
There was an artical about a lady who takes photos of at risk newborns. She takes hundreds of pics, if the child, heaven forbid, passes away the family at least have this record to share and to look at. I wonder if it would be too horribly morbid to want a doll with the same features of your newborn. A nice thing if the baby lives, but if not?
No! I take that back it was an episode of Extreme Makeover, Home edition. I wish I could remember her name, they show whole shows on that website.

NicoWolf, try elongating the pictures..gives a bit of a horsey face but does wonders for my uh...your waistline LOL  see?

Menolly, I'm like you...I flit about from one thing to another.
I used to crochet, but pretty much have forgotten how and I always got my stitches too tight :p

I play with my computerized mandala painter:

I do a little ceramic painting....

I play a little guitar and I like to transfer my vinyl records over to .mp3 when I have the time. I found some music cassettes in a box the other day I plan on transferring to digital. I listen to all kinds of music.

I read...alot. I received a Kindle for my birthday and man, is it easy to download books! I have a LOT of sample books to go through and have had to disable my one click buying because it's almost costing me as much as my ecigs.

School however has been keeping me from my fun stuff. Finals are over this week and I think I'm gonna lay off studying until fall. I need a break.

Everyone that has posted seems to be talented in their own special way!
karenrcg your babies are absolutely beautiful!

Creating stuff...haha.

Just finished making a cover for a fluorescent light in my kitchen with plexiglass. DH cracked the cover that was on it (one of those plastic thingies that looks like a cloud) and then actually broke a chunk out of it. We looked for lights but it was easier and less hassle to just make a new cover for it. Looks awesome.

Building anything that requires power tools...headboard, computer armoire, tables, pretty much anything that I get in my head and can't find/can't afford retail.

Artwork, I just recently did a portrait of my best friends daughter in watercolor as a birthday gift. I go in spurts with the artwork though, it becomes an obsession once I've started a piece but I go long periods doing nothing with it.

TV....Lost, American Idol, House....not real big on tv but do have a few can't misses. ;)

Used to be a wedding photographer but haven't done any serious photography in a good while.

Sewing...usually because I want something specific again and can't find/afford it. Daughter has her heart set on a specific prom dress. $350.00! Can only be found online and they don't take returns....yeah, like that's gonna happen...so I'll probably be making a knock-off...

That's about it.

Talented bunch of ladies here!

OMG...that's amazing! We have a store locally that sells these lifelike dolls. My sister-in-law likes to go in there and sits and rocks the babies...but then you'd have to know my S-I-L to understand how creepy that is....8-o

Wow!! Those babies look real. I am a glass artist. I have done stained glass for 20 yrs. My new passion, well for the last 4 years, is fused glass and lampworked beads. Played around with ceramic for a while, still do it occassionally. Love to play golf. I also am a do-it-selfer. My husband is not handy. Let him help me paint the bedroom, until he stepped in the paint bucket, so I doesn't get to help me anymore. Looks like we are all very creative in this group of ladies.

KarenRCG, your dolls are amazingly like real babies:shock:. The ones that give me that creepy feeling are the ones in dressier clothing (they remind me of babies layed out for a funeral). The ones in more casual attire like we would dress our babies in every day have a lifelike appearance. The hair is just impossibly realistic.

Loraineg57, it sounds like you do what I do - research the retail market for what is needed and get sticker shock, so learn how to DIY it. I don't know if you realize it, but your post count at this moment is 57, just like your name (any plans for lottery numbers?);)

too funny about the paint. My fall into the abyss of home improvement started when DH realized that if he blew off projects long enough I'd get tired of waiting and just do whatever it was myself. And I do mean "whatever"...plumbing, electrical, drywall...I have more patience than he does though so it's all good.

Lol...Yep, that's about it. My best friend hates going shopping with me because I never buy anything..."I can make it for half of that...."

i love jewelry, even though i don't wear very much of it. one of my favorite hobbies is to build/refurbish rings (particularly engagement) and then sell them. i'll surf ebay for empty vintage settings, repair any problems and get it polished, and search for the perfect stones to go inside.

then i sell it! sometimes i just barely make any profit and sometimes i just break even, but i get so much enjoyment from it. i love to take little scraps nobody really wants anymore and turn them into something new and pretty!

Wow! loads of really creative people in here!

I'm fortunate enough to be able to do what I love for a living. I paint, sculpt and do photography (relatively new for me) and am a musician/composer.

Examples of the visual stuff can be perused here

and a few music samples are here

I also knit (badly), have a hardcore love of cooking love doing house renovation. Unfortunately I can't indulge the last on at the moment because we're renting at the moment.
