Beautiful wood and glass! Love it!

I have a woodburner that was in my mom's scrapbooking stuff when she let me have it. I should try it out sometime, but if i like it then my Hubbs will complain that I'm starting yet another hobby! :p

LOL - Tell him "At least it keeps me off the streets." That ought to shut him up.

Classy, that is beautiful work!! I'd be no good at this, I'd never be ever to let a piece go. :D

Rhapsodies, wonderful wood art! I really, really, really like the Celtic one, for the work and the saying. I mean, really really like it. A lot. Really. The world is just so unfair....why are there no wood crafters in my life? :p

I am crocheting again after a 40 year absence from picking up a yarn and a hook ( I had those ready for my stop analog Day One), Needlepoint that I had packed away 20 years ago I am working on again. I am cutting up my paint chips ( had so many I'd gathered over the years) for a mosaic project. After reading about this on the Intructables site this Paint Chip Mosaic project has peaked my 'craft on the cheap' interest.

Thanks, CES. It sort of feels good to try some crafts that went by the wayside while dabbling in a new craft.

I've never done any type of a mosaic crafts though I did a collage for my parents Christmas gift when they were in their early 60s. My Dad actually got tears in his eyes when he saw it. It was family pictures with my parents wedding picture smack dab in the middle of it. It was NOT the best crafting work I've ever done but it wasn't about that. I was working horrendous hours at work, trying to get my older brothers and sister who lived in other States to send me a few pictures for it. I got the last to go in that frame a few days before Christmas. Getting the darn thing finished in time was what it ended up being my concern :) When my Mom passed a few years ago the picture went to me. I have it hung in my home now. I have made a dent in my paint chips, cutting them down to a workable size. There will be many more cuts as I start the piece I am sure.
I have to read how to link sites that I am looking at for Mosaic inspiration...

If this does not post well...I have to do more reading.

Found this after I saw a bit about it on Instructables: Paint Swatch Mosaic--Dragonflies--& How to make one - MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS

I'm really enjoying looking at the artistry in the mosaic designs at this sight. Im in awe...: Mosaic Artists : hundreds of artists display their mosaic art for the heart and home

Just took a picture of a picture:) My collage I made up for my Parents..

Thanks, Fudgey:)
Memories...That was really why I made the collage in the first place, Pissy. We had so many photo albums ( avid 'snappers' in our family) but they never got looked at much. Family get togethers we'd drag them out etc but otherwise ..put away. I thought at least some shots would be out and about to look at.

My 22 year old son got it in his head that he wanted to make a belt out of paracord. Now, this young man's brilliant mind is dominated by engines and computers. NOT a craft person at all. He was getting so frustrated trying to follow the video of how to tie the knots that he got himself all bent outta shape. So I watched the tutorial and quickly realized that this was macrame 101 - and I was able to show him how to do it. He's got the belt about a third of the way done already. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)
