Hi,
I'm planning on getting the eleaf istick Pico 75w TC.
I'm not sure which batteries i should get. I've never used replaceable batteries and have of course been warned to know what i'm doing with them.

I've found this one from vapeclub.co.uk which looks alright:
LG HG2 3000mAh Flat Top 18650 Battery - Pair

Where i'm confused is the output.. the above battery has 20A Max Discharge Current. Is that acceptable for the Pico? I've seen batteries going up to 50A.
I've not been able to find information about 'constant discharge'... i thought that was one of the criteria?
Also, i'm not sure if i need a 'high-drain' battery / unprotected. Or if a protected battery will work.

Thanks for any advise.
J

I use those in a Pico 75w. But I don't hit it at anywhere near 75W. If you are planning on going higher than 60 watts probably better off with a different battery.

To get a battery with higher 30A you will need to go with a lower MAH battery. It will need charging more often though.

Here is mooch's battery chart

Thanks very much for the replies.
I'll be exclusively using temperature control. I'm not sure if it will therefore fire at maximum wattage until it reaches set temperature and then oscillate on + off..?
I'm not sure how it works with the pico, my Eleaf istick TC seems to fire at the maximum (40w) and reaches temp very quickly.
The pico will allow you to set any wattage you like in TC mode.

2x 30A ShockLi (Samsung 30Q) 3000mAh 18650 – Torchy the Battery Boy

If PC enabled, take a peek at the AF firmware HERE for the Pico.

Cheers

Which would be best out of these three?
Sony VTC5A EcoluxShopDirect.co.uk
2600mah-30a-35a nmc
or,
AMPSPLUS HG2 18650 3000mAh 20A INR Battery EcoluxShopDirect.co.uk
3000mah-20a-30a inr
or,
Sony VTC6 EcoluxShopDirect.co.uk
3000mah-15a-20a battery
(the VTC6 is rated as 20A by 'Ecoluxshopdirect.co.uk' and 19A by Mooch but i believe the spec is only meant to be 15A)

Sorry for all the questions, but this stuff really confuses me.
I know i need to get a good brand, from a reputable seller - but not much more than that.
I don't want to get the wrong battery and get hurt.

cheers,

Don't know the AMPSPLUS probably alright. Is probably a rewrap and maybe even a LG H2 but don't know. Not sure but don't think there are any 3000 MAH 30A batteries.

Either of the two Sony batteries are good. The VTC6 will hold a longer charge for use. The VTC5A will hold less charge but will do 75W if that is what you want.

Since you say you do around 40W either will work fine.
