Marlboro lights in 1985 at age 14, then reds, then whatever was on sale or gave away free stuff ( Camel during the camel joe period ) then GPC reds ( 2.12 a carton at the Army post exchange with a coupon... they always had the coupon ) then marlboro 72 lights. When I finally wanted to quit I switched to black n milds, and eventually swisher sweet cigarillos.

Now anything fruity and fabulous... 3 snaps!

Marlboro 100's when I was 12 in Burbank California, bought at the Donut Shop cig machine for .55 cents! Smoked those for the better part of 20 years. The last 20 years I smoked something that was good that I got a deal on and I would change based on coupons, deals etc. Used to find some good deals at Murphy USA station and when I would find a good deal I would buy 4-5 cartons and spend $150-$200 at the drop of a hat. Really would not pay more than $32 ish a carton and if I could not find a deal on Camel, Marlboro or something equavelent I would buy Pall Mall 2 cartons of the blue lights and 2 carton of the menthol lights. That would be my smokes for the month. Thought nothing of dropping $200 bucks because it was part of my life and the way I rolled and never did I think I could give up analogs so I just sucked it up. vaping now for 2 months and I figure I spend about $8-10 a week on juice.

Started with Marlboro Lights in 1996, smoked those until I switched to Camel lights...whenever that was. Then it was some other brand that I can't remember the name of, but went out of business when the tax hike came this last time (they refused to impose it.) then it was back to Camel Lights at the very end. I also smoked Camel Turkish Jade Lights and Djarum Blacks when they were both readily available.

That ended in March. :)

...though, that reminds me, I need to search out a really good clove liquid...

First post!

I smoked a pack a day of marlboro menthol lights for 10 years. I thought I was going to be on analogs forever. I got introduced to vaping from a coworker 3 months ago. I've been vaping at 12mg since then but I always felt that level of nic was a little light for me and I continued to smoke cigarettes at a rate of about 2 or 3 a day.

I switched to 18mg 2 days ago and now I can say I've just gone my first 24hrs w/o an analog. Yay!

This is a great community.

I was wondering what everyone used to smoke before they started vaping, and also if you have found any eliquid close to it. I used to smoke Pall Mall Reds....I still havent found anything close haha.

I smoked Marlboro 27s and my parents and ex-wife smoked Marlboro Lights.

We all smoke Penny's Girl and Penny's Girl Light. from Smoke for Penny's

And I also smoke Halo's Tribeca. But I would advise to buy their sample Kit and pick your flavor.

I always smoked menthol. Started with Salem, I think (it's been so long I can't remember!) Smoked Benson and Hedges for a long time, tried Mores, tried some really skinny kind of cig marketed to women, then when Virginia Slims came out went to those, then to their ultra lights and continued with those up until quitting 2 months ago. Right now, depending on where I get the liquid, using anywhere from 0 all the way up to 24; the latter only because one of the stores whose liquid I like only carries mostly 24. When I order online or buy from the local b&m, I buy 0 or 6 mg. now.

I started first off on champion ruby, then drum blue then port royal. Tried just about every type of ciggy on the market in Australia. As a low income earner I would smoke whatever I could afford and I often resented having to go outside in the cold to suck on a foul tasting stick because my body told me I had to. Port royal is actually awesome though I really enjoyed it. Heard something about an extraction method for making eliquid from it so I'm gonna look into that :D but definitely no more stinkies for me

I smoked menthol (mostly Newports). But ever since I started vaping I tend to stay away from anything that taste like tobacco. I definitely prefer getting my nicotine fix from something that taste more like candy then something that taste like tobacco and has the same scent. One of my favorite things about switching to vaping is that I don't have to deal with that tobacco taste and smell anymore. The tons of chemicals from cigarettes that are gone now is also a bonus :p

Winston Lights - tried a tobacco flavor once at first. Then enjoyed the bakery/fruity flavors too much to care about tobacco taste after that one time. But, I think a tobacco flavor is good for someone starting to vape and choosing not to smoke at the same time. It eases the transition nicely. Like a gradual change.
