I have worked in the cell phone business for the last 10 years, on the retail side of things. I worked my way up from my start as a part time sales rep to the manager of 10 wireless phone locations. I really love the business, it gives you a lot of chances to connect with a lot of different people in a very meaningful way and the chance to hear a lot of different people's stories (you wouldn't believe the way people unburden themselves to workers in the cell phone industry).
Alas, as of today, I am unemployed - I was laid off.
I would really like to open my own store, I have been in the industry long enough and worked for enough different companies to see what really works and what really doesn't, and I think I have a good understanding of the type of treatment that creates raving fan repeat customers, but unfortunately I don't have anywhere near enough capital to invest.
If I ever finish my undergrad degree (I've been chipping away at it for years, paying as I go) I would like to try my hand at teaching history. I have a abiding love of history, and an unabashed love for the sound of my own voice, and I tell an interesting story.

Maybe not for long, if I can track you down. I'd make someone an excellent golf widow! ;)

:thumb::thumb:Go Eleanor, Go Eleanor!:thumb::thumb:

P.S. Every time I see your name I start singing "Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?" Everybody sing...

Darth I'm so sorry about the job but it sounds like you'd be a great teacher if you love what you teach. My son in law is a first year High School Latin teacher. His major was the Classics when he starts talking about the history of ancient Rome & ancient Greece you can see the spark in his eyes (it's all Greek to me lol)..I think you'd be good at it!

Well...I guess I can be the jack of all trades....I am a housekeeper, cook, landscaper, teacher (son is home schooled), seamstress (from clothing to Gazebo Canopies), craftsman (or would that be craftswoman:oops:), zoo keeper, student on hiatus, self-employed in part time custom crafts (from jewelry, accessories, wood products).......hmmmm did I miss anything?

DH (on the list tonight:grr:) is an instructor/course designer for a company that I am not sure how you would classify them....they used to be well known for ATMs and Security (home and business)...now they have ventured out into producing and servicing all kinds of technology from grocery store equipment to Hospital Med distribution machines.....

Can't really tell you what I do for a living -- i'd have to kill you.

But my first real job was as a roller-skating car hop probably before your mother was born.

Another Beatles song
"Let's all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your mother was born.
Tho she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother would know (AAAAA aaaaaaa)
Your mother would know"

Thank you very much.
the next sing-along begins after this short break

Heh heh. That song is precisely the inspiration for my nom de plume (although the lyrics don't fit all that well, the mood does).

You've found me out, Chimchim!:2cool:

Oh, and as to "tracking down" Luma: Take a look at his profile.:blush::blush: (For some reason, I thought he was much older!) Oooops!

(Now I may have to change my name to "Mrs. Robinson.")
