I was meaning to give up smoking for a year or two, but didn't actually want to, as I liked smoking and could not stand the withdrawal. Out of the blue really, I decided to give one of the cigalikes a go ( elites). It got me off the real thing, but battery life, cost etc was not acceptable, then moved on to the ego. Two work colleagues converted to ecigs shortly after me, so a good decision to try them.

Heh. I'd certainly heard of Blu, but didn't particularly care one way or the other about it. I'd made one or two lazy attempts to quit smoking, but ultimately didn't care enough to commit to it. Plus I liked smoking, so wasn't really persistent.

One of my friends had bought a few disposable e-cigs and shown them to me and another friend one day. The fruity flavors were a little much, but the 'smoke' was good so we figured we'd give it a shot. I liked the coffee flavored fake cigs, but quality control was incredibly bad so I hunted around trying to see if there was a way to save money, which led me to getting a 510 style with disposable cartos, which was great, but kind of a pain once the battery life started fluctuating. So I needed something more consistent when I was at home vaping a lot, which killed the 510 cartos pretty fast. Which got me looking again towards mods. So I got a Vtube, now I just have to refine my choice of liquids for it aaaand I think I'm done.

Once I realized I could keep smoking, save money, and not worry too much about my health I figured why not?

Picked up Green Smokes, tried a few, put them away for a year. Not being able to breath and wheezing made me try them again a few weeks ago. They worked. I was done with analogs and ordering an ego-T. :) Smartest thing I've ever done.

I think getting new toys will help keep the interest in vaping and off of the smelly ones. Enjoy your ego!!!

I was at work and saw a female smoking an e cig. I went out and bought one right away had bad luck with it. So i continued to smoke, till i came across blue cigs. They were great at first till they go through the wash and you have to order new batteries, and taste isn't the greatest. So go figure continued to smoke cigarettes. I am at the point i hate the smell, and feeling in the morning when you wake up, oh ya don't forget the cost too! Well i will quit rambling on..... Super excited tho just dropped 300 on the provari mini with accessories cant wait to vape it out! So hopefully i will have better luck

About a year ago i started feeling like i had a glob of something stuck in my throat. Went Dr got tests nothing found. Figured it had to be the 36 years of smoking, time to quit. Had alreadt tried chantix, wellbutrin, patch, gum, lozenge had a bit of luck with chantix 6 months with about 5 smokes snuck in. June of 2008 my 18 yr ol was in a serious car accident that left him in a coma with a traumatic brain injury so the morning i got the call i picked up smokes and headed to hospital. Went from 0- 40 in a day :(
Here it is 4 years later he has issues but he walks talks blah blah anyway i kept tellin myself get off the smokes and then a huge stresser would pop up ( great excuse) 6 months ago i saw a " disposable ecig" at Rite Aid ( Krave) bought it for. 10 bucks, brought it home took 3-4 hits of it and boxed it back up and threw on my desk.
Well like i said i started noticing this feeling like i just could not get my throat clear so picked up the krave off my desk and never wanted an anolog. It's been 25 days i am now using Volt ( got the 2 battery pro kit) with an x2 due in tomorrow.
What i have noticed is i still get that feeling in my throught ( got cartos with kit from SI) but i had ordered some blanks and yesterday got my ejuice from sweet-vapes ( yummy by the way) well i ordered 50/50 juices from reading around the forum and not being sure what the heck mx i needed :) but also ordered 1 item just VG. So today I vaped the all VG and have not had that feeling in my throat. So going to stay with VG but my son also started vaping 2 days ago just from watching me actually quit anologs :)
My goal is to not vape period and i have already gone from 18mg nic to 12 and my batch that is due has 6 mg and 0 mg nic. Don't want to drag this out to long as for right now i'm in the whole about 150.00 lol plus the " 80" i have saved not smoking :). I am sure it balances out when a person finds their prefered method of vaping and their preferred juice.
I'm just thankful to be of the cancer sticks and that 1 of my sons is trying as well.
If i could find a good martini tobacco mix i just might get my other boy off them :)
Yay for crappy drug store ecigs they are a great start when you don't know any better. Thanks for all the great info here in efc and the amazing people who are so helpful and friendly.

I think your luck is about to change. I think getting new toys is a good way to keep your mind off cigarettes. Have fun with it!!!

Started with a mall set a couple years ago. It lasted about a day. Batteries that lasted 2 hours and cartridges that maybe lasted half that.

Threw it out after like a day.

My girlfriend tried the Mistic "disposable" brand from gas stations. And I liked it a lot better. Cartomizers work way better than atomizer cartridges, and that might be the only real difference. So, I bought a starter kit and some extra batteries……started buying juice……started dripping with it.

Made the jump to an Ego Twist when I realized that I hadn't smoked in like a week or so. Love it. I might be buying my first mod in the next few weeks……or just a small pile of Twist batteries and chargers……really depends on whether or not I can get a Kick because that just seems like a good idea all around and I don't really like any of the VV mods on the market.

I had been getting steadily more disgusted by my smoking habit over the last year or so (the cost, the smell, the stigma, hiding it from many people), but couldn't seem to quit w/patches, lozenges, etc. Last fall my father (who clearly has had COPD for a long time but would never acknowledge it/see a doctor) contracted pneumonia & nearly died. After watching him on a breathing tube in intensive care for a week, I knew I had to do something, but didn't know how to be successful. Hubby (also a smoker) mentioned e-cigs & I got curious & started researching, ended up here on ECF, bought a Blu disposable & realized that yes, this could work! And it is indeed working!

I am from the UK, so I probably see different adverts to you. ROC is the one that seems to advertise a lot over here. Also there were some guys selling e-cigs for a few weeks at Euston Station in London, and they kept asking me to try one. I didn't, making an excuse that I was about to give up anyway. No idea what brand they were, or what the price was.

Eventually, I saw a disposable in a shop (still quite a rare sight, certainly in my part of the UK) and I bought one. It was £7 (just over $10, I think). I was surprised at how god it was, and amazed that there was 'smoke' coming out of it (I had no idea!!)

Anyway, I bought 3 or 4 more, and then bought an Innokin AIO kit, followed soon after by an eGo Twist.

I started on volt from smokeless image which is pretty good enough for me. I started becuz one of my customer who vape gave me one of his battery V2Cig auto and a brand new blank with his favorite liquid in them and tell me to try it for a day.

Now I do the same, i give my friends a spare battery along with new cartomizer and have them try for a whole day or two. So far I got two who started on the same set up and i plan to convert even more. In fact, I just gave another friend my spare batt along with charger a filled carto and small amount of liquid and tell him to try that for a week.

I can't remember how many times I tried quitting since I got married (32 years). Cold turkey numerous times for 1 week to a month at most. The patch for 6 months - but weight issues got me. Every time I quit, something about them bugged me more and more when I started up again. Stinking ashtray - heaven forbid having to get it wet to wash when wiping didn't clean it! UGGHH! Ok - September 2010 saw an Eco-cig at a gas station. Nearly tossed cookies! Yuck!

Then we had a major change in finances. Couldn't stand it any more. Tried Mystic ecig and spent a lot of time reading on line - and like others said: "Paid too much but got a kit (not Mystic) and haven't looked back." I believe customer service is everything in my experience. I am SO very happy to have found Smokeless Image. They have been great! I had 12 batteries - both manual and auto. In the slim "ciggy" size I prefer the auto when out and about as they fit nicely in my back pocket. In the larger X2 I really enjoy the manual which I use when I'm in the house or driving.

I'm happy to tell people 2 doctors (sinus / allergy issues) are very happy I'm using the ecigs! When I'm in a hurry to get outside to do chores - I actually enjoy 'running' again! That being said - "excuse me while I bolt for my Volt"!

I had not heard about e-cigs nor do I know anyone that uses them. Here in Illinois the price for a pack of analogs is now $6.50 to $7 a pack . When they went up that high I knew I had to do something plus I was the last smoker in my family. My kids are grown and I have 6 grandkids so I am also doing it for them. I had smoked for 41 yrs and reallly enjoyed smoking. Last Wed.; July 10 my first kit arrived. I had 6 full packs of analog and a pk opened. I charged them up and have smoke free ever since. I know it has only been 5 days but as my family would tell you this is a big deal. As long as I can vape for the nic I will be fine. No cravings I can't handle...lol Good luck and everyone is right. You will breathe much better..
