I got a 510-T starter kit, and at first thought 18mg was too hard for me within the first few days. Every one is different and it can take awhile for you body to adjust. Now I'm thinking I'd just like to have some zero mg with a few other flavors I like at higher strengths when I crave. Eventually would like to get down to zero but I know that will take a little more time. After a week 18mg is steady for me.

I started a few years ago when vapor nine came out with their set up. Was looking to quit smoking like most everyone on here. I used vapor nines battery and cartomizers for a few weeks and really didn't enjoy it. Nearly went back to analogs but first decided to try the ego's. Went a few weeks on the egos and cartomizers. Tried all kinds of filler and carto mods but never found much that really fit me. Just seemed like too much work to keep the damn thing going honestly. So I went back to cigarettes. Over the last few years I've tried various set ups off and on. Found dripping to fit me the best until recently. A few weeks ago I started researching all the improvements that had been made in equipment so I ordered some new juice a twist and a few new attys to try. Had no intentions on giving up the cigarettes though. Just wanted to see if vaping had gotten any better. At first i was vaping and smoking. Well here I am weeks later and haven't even considered smoking an analog again. I've upgraded to a provari with tanks and enjoying it tremendously. Much more than I enjoyed smoking. So I have a feeling I'm done with analogs for good this time. But I'm no doubt going to be vaping for years to come.

Well I had been smoking a pipe, and cigars for years after leaving ciggaretts. I quit ciggaretts because of smell and taste. I decided to try these after I noticed that I was having alot of trouble keeping my wind. A co-worker at Xerox who was also a contractor had shown me some of these personal vaporisers. So I decided to give them a try. I have been using e systems since 2011. I am finially getting into some of the more exotic systems and items to reduce price. However, I am really loving using a 510-t and ego with 510-t atomizer system.

A co-worker showed up one day vaping a disposable ecig. I was fascinated. It looked like he was exhaling smoke! Picked one up on the way home from work, hoping it may reduce my cigarette smoking, but I wasn't planning on stopping cigs altogether.

First week I reduced my cigarette smoking by half. Within three weeks I was completely off cigarettes and was using the GreenSmoke kit. About a month later I bought an ego. A month or two after that I ordered a Provari. Coming up on one year cigarette-free.

So, I suppose I'm one of those accidental quitters. Never made a decision to quit smoking/start vaping. It just happenned. Couldn't be happier!

Started today finally. Had been planning for a while and after looking here and there for sometime, decided to go with SI's Volt. But got myself 18mg and think its too hard for me. I need a less mgs of nicotine.

Try to stick with it, and good choice on the starter kit. What flavors do you have? A menthol or a mint flavor usually isn't to harsh on the throat. It might help. Do a Google search to see if there are any stores near you. You might be able to try before you buy.

I tried for the past 6 months to quit, using varied methods. A customer at my job switched to vaping last spring, and was impressed with the technology. I had tried ecigs when they first came out, and was disappointed - too fiddly, and unreliable. I have been analog-free for 19 days, very happy with the new products. Using a variety of pass-thru batteries w/dual coil tanks. Just ordered a Bolt.

A freind of mine has been vaping for several years. He claimed it was the only way he could 'not smoke'. I had been wanting to quit for some time, so we talked about it several times and then he offered to sell me his old eGo kit, plus several extra atomizers and a couple (3) bottles of juice to get me started. He warned me that to quit smoking and start vaping I had to leave the cigs alone and just vape. I still use that eGo, along with an REO mini I use at work. My freind has moved up to ProVaris, GGTC, and other expensive PV's, but I still like my mini and an occasional toot from that same eGo.

I have known a few people who are vapers and they always gave me the "sales pitch". I didn't give in until recently when a new coworker (who also vapes) convinced me that it was worthwhile to give it a try as a replacement for analogs. I broke down, bought a SmokTech eGo dual coil kit a few weeks ago. Since, I have built a VV mod from a madvapes kit and have been amassing all sorts of stuff.

I've been off analogs for 4 days now, but the downside is that I just want more and more vaping toys and want to build more mods. From a financial standpoint, this probably isn't going to help me at all. At least my lungs won't turn into charcoal now.

I had been trying to quit for about 6 months and was chewing too many pieces of nicogum between sneaking cigs. Heard a radio ad from Blu cigs. Did a search for ecigs and ended up on ecf. Canceled the Blu order, ordered a Volcano disposable to try and kept reading on ecf. Ended up ordering a joy510 to start with. Haven't had a cig or another piece of nicogum since. I have had a wide range of pvs in the 3 years time but for over a year have vaped on a Provari. Recently added a couple Ego twists just because they are handy to use while I am out and about and dont have to worry about losing. Its been exciting to watch all the improvements that have been made since back when I started. The future of vaping looks like its going to be a lot of fun too.

Around Christmas I saw one in a tutorial/demo vid from another music forum.
The fella stopped, grabbed his passthrough had a puff and then continued :w00t: and then I started to google.
EcF was one of the first places I found and then I found AvF down here which is pretty good.
I'm up to about 5.5mths smoke free after 20+yrs of heavy smoking. :)
I started on eGo for about 6wks then provari for another 6wks then I switched to a twin 18650 vv tank from UkV, throathit twin lol now trying vmax only had it for less than a week, I still use a cartotank mainly.

My first exposure was from a largely negative segment on NPR. They treated the ecig as more of a joke or curiosity, but it was enough to spark my curiosity. Like they say, sometimes negative publicity is still publicity! Unfortunately, I was determined to buy something quick and settled for an NJoy kit from a local guy who was reselling them. It worked well enough to keep me going into an M401 kit that got me off cigarettes completely, though.

Doc said "quit smoking or die". I chose the not dieing part.
over a year smoke free.

not to be a party pooper, but yer still gonna die. vaping doesn't make you immortal.

edit: my story - two years ago, got some blu's that i saw in advertisements on another forum that i regulared. then i switched to esmokes, then chase. all pretty horrible, but i figured out to refill the chase cartos. researching liquid for my chase's is what led me to quit analogs full time. now i'm using a bolt with a few smoktech tanks strapped on ikenvape cartos.

It all started on a stormy evening.... lol Matthew O. the organizer of the Lexington KY Vape Meet texted me to ask about our DJ services for the meeting. So while smoking a newport cigarette, he and I texted back & forth about the details.

Over the next couple of weeks - a particular director of the KY tobacco free center in Lexington made attempts to shut down the meet and spread false facts about vaping. And it so happens that I worked in the same place as that person. I didn't like that she was speaking on behalf of our university and trying to use that weight to tell a private business what to do. I immediately become a strong supporter of the local Vapers - who were just trying to organize and share the love of vaping & give out correct facts about vaping.

So we DJ'd the Lex Vape meet last night... and I tried out several vaping products... made some purchases... won some great give-aways... and today, I've smoked 1 cigarette, and vaped allllll day long. It was obviously fate that we DJ'd this event. Made some great friends, and possibly made some life-altering changes!!!

Started with me switching between smoking and dipping for the last eight years, unable to quit one resulting in switching to the other. Then this past year a good friend of mines dad was diagnosed with lung cancer, so that really hit close to home. So after that along with some incentive from my parents pressuring me to quit I decided to take the plunge. I started with trying out the analog style e-cigs to help me out in the beginning, then moved up to pv's and I have been here ever since, going on 4 weeks strong!

A friend of mine tried a disposable, and let me try it. The seed was planted, but I didn't think about it until about a month ago. I found the electronic cigarette subreddit, kept reading, and then took the plunge about 2 weeks ago. I stupidly bought an expensive rip-off, but it'll last me until my Riva shows up mid-week!

I think just about everybody gets a stupid rip off first. At least it got you started though. Good luck with the Riva :)
