THank you for your share. Yeah, it is my goal of quiting smoking. as you said that you have successfuly switched from smoking to vaping. then i wonder if vaping will be addictive habit?
Personally I didn't want to quit smoking but felt like I needed to. I just chose a better option for me. I have been vaping for almost 6 years and at this point have no desire to quit.

My older sister on the other hand switched to vaping and was both smoke and vape free within a year of making the switch. If one goes into this with the intention of quitting both smoking and vaping I know for sure it is doable.

Only time will tell if never smokers that start vaping will become dependent on the nicotine by vaping it. The hand to mouth action may very well become an ingrained habit though. JMHO

True. You body is really deprived of nicotine when you first wake up. Some people have a tank with higher concentration nicotine just for the morning use. Maybe it will help you. Maybe not. My advice is always not to force it. Just vape and enjoy.
You are so kind, thanks very much. Best of luck.

I did the same, took me about six weeks. 2 things that really helped me was this site recommending not to count the cigs I smoked but to count the ones I didn't, and I gave myself permission to smoke whenever I wanted, haven't picked one up on close to four years.

I didn't dual use to quit, but the "giving myself permission" thing is something I do, still.

For me, a big part of why quitting has failed in the past is the lack of individualization with other quitting methods.

Cold turkey was quit now, nicotine patches are a regulated time step down method, etc. These didn't work for me because they didn't really feel like the were FOR me.

However, vaping has a great deal of personal input. I decide when I'm ready. My quit plan is FOR ME by me.

It takes a good deal of the pressure that comes with quitting off.

Vaping is personal, if dual using feels right, then do that. There is a lot of good advice, here, Nine Nine, but ultimately, we don't know what your instincts are. You know you best. When it comes to cravings and whether or not dual use is working for you, you are in the best place to make that judgement.

I was fortunate. Decided on a day, walked into a B&M that was recommended to me before hand, bought an EVOD starter kit, threw away my half full pack of smokes that day, and never looked back.
I told myself "this is all you have now".
2 years 9 months later I help that same store by letting them sample/use items I buy that they might increase their business by having the most up to date and/or popular items.

When I started vaping, I never took another analog -- and now it is over 5 years. A friend of mine did the dual use thing and she is still smoking analogs. I guess it comes down to what type of person you are and what your level of commitment is - I was committed to become a vaper and an ex-analog smoker. I think if I did the dual use, I would still be smoking analogs ymmv.

Thank you for share, that means "dual use" is not the only choice for quiting smoking. best of luck.

I vaped for a long time before I cut out the cigs. Got down to a few a day. Tried to quit completely several times unsuccessfully. I think I just wasn't ready. When I did dump the smokes it just kind of happened without planning. I had one left in the pack and I didn't really want it. Lit it up anyway and took a few drags. It tasted terrible and I broke it up and dropped the tobacco on the ground. Never smoked another one after that.

I think you've seen in this thread a bunch of different ways it can happen. I guess you should just try it, don't try to force yourself into a path that worked for someone else.

Good Luck
