Howdy!
I thought that perhaps sharing hobby interests might be a fun way to share with the folks in this group. So I will start off:

I really enjoy hacking in the (my?) true definition:
An inquisitive person who enjoys taking things apart to understand them better, then rebuilding and modifying them to improve and/or customize to a particular purpose.

From a hobby aspect, I enjoy hacking in respect to both Robotics and RC stuff - cars, airplanes, helicopters, quads...

My current interest in the RC arena is a quadcopter - thoroughly enjoyable and quite fun to hack to be different than other folks :)

Here is one pic:

and a video I put together for fun of my quad at night outside my house: :)

With summer coming up - I cant wait for the snow and cold to go away to get more flying in!

So what do you all enjoy?
Thanks!
:D

Thats Pretty cool B94Cast

I tinker around with a bit of stuff, theres just something about building something then standing back and having that pride of accomplishment.
I think I enjoy making smokers the best. When I'm done making one and show up at a family/friends house with a little gift for them its awesome just to watch their face. Plus it ensures I'm usually invited to the bbqs and beer =)

Here's some of the hobbies I have.
Haven't done any tattoos for a bit, really don't like doing them but some family begged so I bought a kit.

And yes I know... I lose some "Man Points" for the eggs

Its past 1 in the morning, and for some unknown reason I now have a serious craving for some smoked pork chops! ;)
The smoker looks great - would love to park one of those on my patio! :) Thats also some nice ink work there - wide range of talent, ink, eggs, and then smoker - looks to be quite rewarding.
Thanks for sharing - man points or not, wonderful art with the eggs.

I am a woman of endless hobbies. I generally want to make one thing for myself, and then end up learning all the ins and outs of several different methods just to accomplish the one goal. My current hobby list is as follows:
Sewing
Weaving (both loom and tablet)
Dyeing
Beading
Crochet
Machine Knitting
Rock Tumbling
Wire Wrapping

Many of these things go together. Rock tumbling and wire wrapping to make pendants. Dyeing yarn to tablet weave and then bead to make belly dance belts. Dyeing yarn to loom weave then sew the fabric into any number of things... Crochet is just my tool for processing things because I've done it so long, it's good when I have a lot on my mind.

I dyed the yarn for this, then wove it on the tablet loom, then I beaded it.

I actually added more amethyst beads to this after I took the picture so they come down the side of the Chalcedony Rose more.

OHH Man~ I need a smoker BAD!! those look great!!

I dont have hobbies- cause I tend to go overboard. I started baking custom cakes just for the fun of it (ala duff and buddy) and turned it into a 60plus hours a week business.
I got a few animals to raise for food and enjoyment and now have a hog breeding program and an incubator for chicken eggs
I learned to use all the power saws for small fixer up projects and built an entire smokehouse.
I wanted a few tomatoes and cukes, so I planted about 5 acres in peas and corn and cukes and maters
my family loves skeet shooting, so we are setting up an entire trap shooting area.
we love to shoot bows, So- we have 3D targets and are setting up a bow Range.

I used to quilt, embrodery, crochet and sew- but just cant find the time for them anymore.

I'm one of those 'xtreme' types.

I'm into:

Wakeboarding, wakeskating, wakesurfing

Paintball
Sky diving
Cliff/bridge diving

Teaching my boys things that my wife would prefer I didn't. (most of the above and then some!)

Hacking (in it's true form... Tinkering with) unix computers (especially macs!)

Taking naps whenever possible!

Turtle keeping was my hobby for years...but after the baby was born, I just didn't have the energy to keep up with the water (I had to keep it crystal clear or it made me nuts and honestly, turtles are filthy critters). I also love photography. I'd say my hobby now is all things vaping LOL. Some pics:

thats what I forgot- we do shooting sports- SO- I am on the board for the Friends of the NRA committee for our local chapter. and on the board for the National Wild Turkey Federation local chapter. Both give money to our local 4-H shooting sports. Which BR and I are getting our certifications to run in the next few years.

I am also active in our community cemetary board.

I used to be on the PTA- for 3 differnt schools- but found I couldnt change anything and that they really didnt care what the parents thought- SO, now I homeschool all my kids.

Wow, I must be more tired than I thought. I also collect amber/brown and spruce colored pressed/depression glass. It's just been so long since I looked for any new/interesting pieces that I forgot...though it's all around my home so I'm not sure how I did LOL!

The part of the collection that I keep in my dining room...please to be excusing the dust on top

i knew there was another reason we got along!
art deco period glass is my weakness, especially lights! love to hunt for incomplete pieces and make them whole again!
just two of my successes, lol

There are some truly talented people here on ECF. My hat's off to you all. I like finding antiques that are beyond saving and restoring them. I get them for almost nothing because people think they're too far gone and then I get the satisfaction of making them beautiful antiques again. Oh then I usually give them away to someone. This is an old chair I did that had half the back missing and only had 3 legs. The seat needs redone agai from sitting on it. The hardest part was matching half the carving in the middle.

I have been a Citizens' Bander for ages, now I prefer to be a SWL (Short Wave Listener).
I have a nice receiver hooked up to the PC and i like to find and decode, digital trasmissions.
I also like to build my own antennas.
This hobby has been outdated by the internet, so nowadays there isn't really much to listen to, but i still like to spin the tuning knob :)
