So Cal
Katya, I love the description of "sucking a mikshake through a straw" feeling. My virgin vape was on a new single-logo auto shorty (I know, not the same model being discussed here, but my experience was kind of similar) - I really had to work at it compared the manuals. In fact, when I was in Vegas this weekend (the reason I found this forum and V4L was because I was so afraid of falling off the wagon and starting analogs again when I went to Vegs - yay, success!!!) and my manual had no more charge, I whipped out the auto and vaped on that for quite awhile - I ended up with a horrible sore throat. It went away after we got back from Vegas, but it came back again today - when I was messing around with the shorty auto. I think the sore throat is actually from having to suck too hard (good grief, what a sentence...).

Lol on the last sentence.

I don't find the draw to be hard. I find it too light and it makes the battery hard to keep activated. It reminds me of the 4072 I was using where I had to do a direct inhale to get anything out of. So with my new manual reg, I broke toothpicks off in the holes. The draw is a bit stiffer than I like but it's working like a champ. Lots of flavor and vapor.

You know, you're right - I think what's going on with my batteries is a weird combo of sometimes having gunk in the battery (sometimes feeling of the 'milkshake in a straw') and *always* having to suck in a high volume of air/vapor to get enough vapor for a throat hit because too much air is getting in. I'm having to expand my throat and mouth to hold in a ton of air as I continue to suck in to get enough TH. It's my throat and mouth actually having to create the suction that is lacking in some respects, but struggling to get the draw going because the battery may be gunked up.

Between my last post and now, I tried the trick of cutting one of the condoms to make a little rubber band and putting it around the join between the cartridge and the battery - WOW what a difference - suck just a little (more resistance, but wayyy less sucking (AAAGGHH I feel like I"m speaking in pornographese today, blargh) ), for wayyyy more vapor and throat hit without having to hold so much total air mixed with vapor in my mouth and throat. I have to adjust the band frequently it seems because if it covers everything completely there's no air coming through at all almost, so I kind of put it at an angle so most of the join/air holes are covered, with just a little bit of air getting in, and it was the best vape I've had yet - on my shorty auto, no less, which has been really mediocre compared to my manual until now. It *really* felt like smoking an analog this time, I'm very jazzed. Thank you to whomever came up with that little trick!

Decided to order one of the purple autos anyway, and I got it today. No dice. It's impossible to get a decent vape out of this. The batt itself is beautiful, though! I just hope they have a purple one withOUT the new airflow design (if that is indeed the problem). I sent a PM to Val, so I'm sure this will be resolved in short order. :)

Ok, a little confused. I just bought the Ultimate Auto Kit, I got a chrome and blue auto regular single v4l logo. How many holes are suppose to be on these auto reg's? I only see 3 holes, I blocked off one of the holes on one batt and left the other batt as is. I can't really tell a difference. Do I have the new batts with the new holes? I have 3 holes and they don't seem to be that big to me, like everyone is talking about. I haven't been able to really vape much since I got my kit because I have one nasty sinus infection.

I LOVE the new purple's, never had a problem. You do need to adjust your tempo of puffing a bit, but, I get plumes, of vapor, as well as them getting much better after a few charges. Try puffing a little harder....sounds silly, but, check it out, Val's is valerie@vapor4life:D

Enjoy

Steve:cool:

Not to worry, if ya got a dud, we replace:Dbetcha ifya tr my suggestions ya will be smilin though

Steve, seriously, I have to suck on this thing like it's a triple-thick milkshake through a straw in order to activate it. My cheeks are caving in. :pOnce I get it activated, it's great, but since I have to go through lip and cheek contortions just to activate the darn thing, it's not worth it. I have to suck so hard I'm getting mouthfuls of juice. It also cuts out on me mid-drag because I can't possibly keep up that kind of suction for longer than 2.5 nano-seconds. I'm not a human vacuum cleaner. :D

I can't get a response in my PM but earlier in this forum leaford said it was the manufacturers mistake and that they were working with a new one. When can we order these new ones? Now if someone can clarify that the manuals are just fine then I will order those for now and then get an auto later on. I am sick of this 510. Had it almost 2 months now and I am fed up with it. I can't stand it at all. I can deal with refilling carts that's not an issue but 510 carts don't last nearly as long as a V4L cartomizer.

Oh ...great... and i just ordered an Auto XL for a friend i'm trying to convert from analogs!
If this thing does not work as well as my other batts she will get a bad impression of vapping right off the bat (no pun intended)

I guess I will have to give her my manual .... she used to laugh at me watching me vape my first few weeks.... until i gave up the analogs all together ... now she wants to try it

so is this issue limited to a color ...IE are different colors from older stock maybe.... Just tying to make myself feel better about ordering the XL auto...before reading this thread i guess !!

So Steve...I see you don't sleep either...lol

I was starting to think that I was nuts with my batt issues.... But you [Valerie] have been great with the customer service,

I have a order in now that includes replacement batteries and a new "blue" auto XL..and I am jonesing waiting for that , all exciting, email telling me my order has shipped ....You know, I have never had that with any other purchase/product ... I think I'm addicted to V4L now!!

hope my new auto XL works well...I would hate to have to give up one of my other favorite batts to my potential convert!

Thanks again Steve & Valerie for the amazing customer service!!

The current Autos XL's are still, to my knowledge, the small hole version. That might have changed in the last couple weeks since I got my last, but I believe it's still true. Someone from V4L can correct me if I'm mistaken.

Regardless - if you're really worried about it, ask them specifically for the old version - I'm sure they'll try their best.
