From what I understand, nicotine is pretty similar to caffeine in how it affects your body, right?

AFAIK nicotine is about as bad for you as caffeine is. It seems to have beneficial effects for memory and ADD, but don't quote me on that. I found my nic levels very easy to reduce and finally eliminate in my juices after about 10 months of vaping. From that experience I think nicotine by itself, so not delivered from a cigarette, is not particularly addictive at least for me.

I started vaping about a month ago. I began at an 18, stayed there for a week, then bumped it up to 24 and was only there for a couple of days. 24 was too much for me, even though I used to smoke 2 packs a day! Now I am fine at an 18 but use 12 on my sweet juices. So to answer the question.......12 or 18 depending on the juice.

I started at 18mg and have mainly stayed there. Tried a bottle of 24 a few weeks back and there was to me a noticeable throat hit difference. I always plan to bring it down to 12 eventually but I'm in no rush. Years of smoking and now to be cig free I don't want to jump too quickly. As long as your not getting sick from it because I have over nicced before. Let your body tell you and if your eventual goal is to be nicotine free take it nice and slow IMO
