Here is a good one. Not sure of the cycle times though. Honestly, I find it better to run one or two short cycles, let the bottles breathe overnight, and then a cycle or two the next day.

Amazon.com - Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry and Eyeglass Cleaner Cleaning Machine (White) - Electronics Cleaning Products

With all due respect, I burned one of these up within a month. It was not exposed to overly heavy usage. I suggest looking at Harbor Freight - http://www.harborfreight.com/25-liter-ultrasonic-cleaner-95563.html

The price seems to go up and down. Harbor Freight discount coupons from 25% - 40% can be found with a google search.

I bought mine two months ago for $69. and then got a 25% off coupon.

It has an 8 minute timer. It is sturdy.

I'll never buy an ultrasonic cleaner after using this: Lab Hot Plate with Magnetic Stirrer Mix your juice in a beaker, start the stirrer, heat juice to 95 to 100F with a thermometer and let it cool down wile stirring as fast as it will go without breaking the magnetic bond, tiny air bubbles in the juice along with the heating blend everything so well, as soon as the air bubbles dissipate, vape away, it taste the same then and 30, 60 days later! The best way I found to blend! :smokie:

Do you need to cover the beaker that you stir in? How long do you let it run for?

I have had decent luck with mine. Its been going for around 6 months. To your point though, I don't use it all that often. I have so much DIY juice stocked up that I never "need" one faster. I only use it if I am making something for someone else that is low on juice and needs it right away, or if I get anxious on a custard recipe to try it! :D

I had the chance to use one of these and it works wonders!! It simply isn't suitable for me, as I usually only make 15ml bottles at a time and mix right in the bottle. If you are making larger quantities, I HIGHLY suggest this small investment.

Question about adding heat to quicken the steeping process. What about a Sous vide? I have one. It is very easy to DIY very cheap to do and the temp can be set to ANY temperature.

That would work for the heating aspect, but the ultrasonic cleaner also adds a "pulse" in the water giving it more of a mix. That, coupled with the heated water to thin the juice, is what makes the cleaner much more effective.

I don't cover it, the thermometer is in the mixing juice. I bring it up to temp maybe 4 to 5 min. the plate will heat up real fast, too fast so I turn it on about 20 sec. turn it off watch the thermometer,,on ,,,off,,,till I get to 95 to 100F , turn the heat off and let it cool down wile mixing about 20 min.....to get back to 75F. That's it!

Does anyone use the ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning and sterilizing diy mixing equipment like syringes and needles ?
Any instruction would be appreciated

I've cleaned a few cartos with it in my time. Sure you can use it to clean just about anything. Bottles, syringes, needles, RDA's, RBA's. If you clean clearos such as ce4's or any non rebuildable it may shread or unbraid the wicking but there still usable. I would recommend no more then a minute or 2 for those. I find for my kayfun it works wonders for them expecially if you have the kayfun mini's with the spring loaded bottom fill valves. Frees them right up and stops them from leaking.

Recently, I have started using my Harbor Freight 2.5 L to clean my Kanger T3s coil assemblies. I had always soaked the dirty ones in 91% Iso Alcohol until I got around to cleaning them. One day, I set the jar of the dirty coil assemblies - alcohol and all (lid loose) - into the UC for 4 or 5 of it's 8 minute cycles. Drained, rinsed in clean alcohol, drained and dried for about an hour in my hot Alabama sunshine (paper towel on a paper plate 90° in the shade) and found the coil assemblies to be clean as a pin! I was very surprised that the wicking had returned to pure white. (Did not even try to dry burn these.)

I found no residual taste. I do place a drop or 2 of unflavored 50/50/1.2 juice on the coil/wick area to keep from that crappy first hit of mixed flavors. Every one was like new...

Previously I had used denture tablets to soak overnight with good (not this good!) success.

As we always say, YMMV!

I use this one. It was/is one of the cheapest ones with a 60min timer. The only complaints i have are minor... i wish it was a bit deeper to allow the lid to close with 30ml bottles and the timer is a little funky but works fine once you figure it out. It does not have a heater but i assume the piezo produces heat naturally which, to me, seems to heat the water to nearly hot tap temps, i'm guessing 100-115F.
