I started by buying 120ml of PG based nic at double the mg i usually vape at , i use to vape at 20 mg nic so i bought 40 mg . I added the same amount of VG so now i had 240ml of 50/50 nic at 20 mg .

I don't do that anymore, much much more cost effective to buy 120ml of 100mg nic and cut it down . Since i'm a complete idiot i requested help to figure out how to break it down , as you can see the person who helped me said "it doesn't get easier than that my friend" . Well, i need it easier than that but apparently it's not possible. View attachment 466359

Great idea!
Is my freedom smokes a trusted vendor for nic.
I bought nic from MFS - a liter and a smaller bit from Canadian supplier. MFS was very good, they were efficient with delivery and the item was well packaged. I would buy from them again

I've bought nic from MFS, RTS, Nude, and Wizard Labs. I really can't tell the difference with any of them except for MFS. It has more of a peppery note to it (and i really like it) but all in all, any major nic supplier has good quality nic. I wouldn't think twice about ordering from any of them. I think a lot of us spend too much time overthinking who to buy nic from when the real problem is figuring out how to perfect a recipe that can be vaped all day. Heartland has been selling liters for $45 lately. That would be my first choice right now.

I think it was 25 bucks, just some flavorings and nic base. I used the bottles I already had from the crappy ones I got online. Every time I buy some from online I get mad at myself because it never tastes good.

I poured some base into a bottle.. added some flavoring in drops. Done and good. I still do that now. I know basically what I like. A couple drops of this a couple drops of that. Let the flavors sit in the sun and air out. Add some base and some vg. All from eyesight. Takes too much time to measure.

You let it sit in the sun?? You know that starts degrading and ruining the nic right?

Yeah, thats way too complicated for me lol. Tried many times.
DIY e-juice | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators on the left hand side under nic unit click mg/ ml under target put in the strength you want it to be under base type in what your base is for example mine is 100 and is mixed 50 vg 50 pg

anyway I like it because I can tell it I want to make 5 ml or 10 or 30

As you can see here , can't figure it out. I want to make my nicotine at 14 % as the finished product , it's showing 10 max , want to make 50 ml but how to cut 100 mg nic to get to 14 mg . How much VG /PG do you add for a 50 ml sample size.

I only vape 1ml a day at 18mg. So that's about 72ml of 100mg a year.
So will nic stay good for 14 yrs?
Or should I get a smaller amount?
Definitely a smaller amount. I bought 250 ML of 100 mg nic a while back. I figure that is enough to last me a couple of years. I split it up into 15 ml bottles and put them in the freezer. Leave just a bit of airspace and they will not burst and will likely not even freeze and are good forseveral years. I have only pulled 2 of the little bottles out to use so far and have over half of one of them left.
PG base nic keeps better I think than VG based.

Here in the EU, buying nic-base can put a considerable dent in the budget - compared to prices in the US, it's takes the biggest chunk. Doesn't apply of course if you DIY'ing 0 mg/ml. Group purchases through local forums take the edge off that to some extent.
Flavours is next. Personal preferences, so there's bound to be a lot of hit'n miss 'n tweaking till you get it just so for yourself.
PG, VG, handful of 1ml syringes ( scotchtaped the markings to make em last longer ), couple of bottles 'n beakers and a precision scale ( they go for less then twenty bucks and come in very handy when mixing small samples or single bottles - large batches is faster with measuring it out )

Decided after the third bottle of ready-made juice that it wasn't for me, so jumped into DIY both feet first, about 200 bucks - but it's possible with much less. There's online shops here that sell DIY starter kits for roundabout 40 bucks...

Thanks Robert. That's what I was thinking.

herb 7 ml of 100 mg per ml nic and then add 21.5 Mls of vg and 21.5 Mls of pg would give you a final result of 50 ml of 14 mg / ml nic
of course if you add flavours under the flavour at 10 % the pg value would change under mixing or how to make it and you would need to add 5 ml of flavour and only 16.5 ml of pg to come to the final result of 50 ml of fluid at 14 mg/ml nic in a 50 /50 base

I actually got into DIY because I cannot tolerate some of the artificial ingredients in bought juice. Was about to give up on vaping till I started DIY. I was doing DIY within 4 weeks of starting vaping.
With DIY I control my ingredients. Well mostly some of the flavorings I use just say natural and artificial ingredients. But some I use have NO artificial ingredients.

have no idea but if you vape that little I would probably go for a smaller jug unless you are stock piling for the end days of vaping;) if you do get a bigger jug break it down in to a number of smaller brown bottles and freeze it (leave a little head room in the bottle)

I didn't go crazy. I'm not a mad scientist and was able to make good ejuice with 1 or 2 flavors w/out going overboard w/measuring, but my tastes are simple, given that I want to SAVE MONEY.

Yep, that is the key. I bought some mixing gear when I first started - do not use half of it. My first order of flavs lasted longer than I ever imagined 3+ years (this was after I decided DIY was the route to go). Just ordered $21 worth (6 intermixable flavors), which I estimate is a year or more supply this time around. Bought 250 ml nic the first time - same with PG/VG just to see if DIY was my thing, followed up with a one liter purchase after I decided to permanently DIY - major savings then.
