I am fortunate, I reached my "sweet spot" quite a while ago. I've got stocks of essentials and even though I never really planned to vape for life, I can go another 20+ years if need be. So, me, I won't miss much. I will happily just move along.

I also believe that this industry is not dead. We will see a glory day again. The main difference will be it will cost as much or more than smoking does. Remember it's all about the tax money. Any one with a sane mind knows vaping is better than smoking, it's just not as profitable to the government, YET. Once the FDA proclaims they have "cleaned up" the industry and regulated it (have full control over) and proper taxation methods have been finalized, vaping will be the best thing since the Polio vaccine.

BT and the government will give vapers what they want, why wouldn't they? This is about cash and regulation, vaping itself will survive, and in forms that are familiar to us now.

I will miss the interchangeability we have had with connections if the regs play out and closed proprietary systems are all they "approve". As much as we have wished for a bigger, more durable connector than the 510, it paved the way for us to make all the choices we have.

I will miss trying out new flavors that others thought up if only tobacco and menthol are generally available.

I will miss being able to start off a smoking friend with a good setup, then being able to point them to sources that they can easily manage themselves.

I will miss clearances and closeouts of "old school" vaping equipment, as that is what I like. Fortunately, most of those happened over the last two years and I had no choice but to stock up.

I agree to a point. It is all Government manipulation for more taxes. Put the manufacturing/Distribution into the hands of the big money players like big tobacco. They will label all E-Juice as a tobacco product so that it can fall under the same rules and regulations as cigarettes, tax the eyeballs out of any and all Vapors and then drive the prices of mods, juice and parts thru the roof.
But it's all for our own good and the children... think of the children:rolleyes::-x:cry: Why are there no taxes on stupidityo_O

I'm building my stash of vg, nic, and flavors right now. 100+ mods, 30+ tanks, 40+ rdas, and enough Kanthal and SS to last a lifetime. Two gun safes, two bows with 100+ arrows, and enough knives to use a different one each week of the year makes my "stockpile" decent, for now. I never considered myself a prepper, but if doodoo hits the fan, I'll be ready for a while.

Yes they will tax it for all it is worth. I believe it will be the juice though, that is most taxed. The gear, parts, batteries, wire, etc., that will all pretty much stay the same. Gear can be labeled for purposes other than vaping (VV flashlight anyone?) and we all know rebuilding supplies are for far more that vaping, so that may get even cheaper as vape companies wont be repackaging off the shelf products for a good mark up.

Contraband nic will flow like water, just like any other contraband product out there. Fear not fellow vaper, it's not all doom and gloom, we just have to go a little underground for a while.

Since I do not want to miss any of this stuff, I took 10 minutes out of my morning and wrote a brief email asking for support of HR2058 and stating why it was important to me and many others. I then copied and pasted that email to a couple of senators and a couple of Congressmen and my State Representative.
10 minutes, it wasn't hard. If we all do this, then maybe we won't have to miss a thing. Come on now, don't think that you don't have to because everyone else is doing it. Everyone else may be thinking the same thing.
Please take 10 and do this.:nun:

I like knives too.

But as a utility.

I don't really buy expensive knifes. At least until the kiddos move out in another 14 or so years.

You can shave with every knife I own that isn't purposed to be a spreader such as a "butter knife".

Whoever tries to rob me in my truck is going to lose their intestines in the blink of an eye.

Knifes > guns in close quarters
;)

What I'm going to miss? Nothing. I'm stocked up.

Things I'll miss;

  • Market innovation/future tech
  • Worry-free unrestricted online shopping for new gear/tech
  • Vapemail anticipation/excitement
  • Sampling "new" juice
  • Being a law biding citizen (I don't intend to fully abide by "their" laws)
  • Having confidence/respect for the government (Ok I'm lying I've had -zero- confidence in them for the past 20 years and even less respect)...;)

Things I'm looking forward to;

  • Becoming a major pain in the governments ***
  • Showing people how to make NET skirting around vape taxes and government regulations
  • Becoming part of tomorrow's underground movement that will keep vaping alive and well for those who have yet to quit smoking.
  • Coming up with a really cool nickname that reflects my rebellious/defiant attitude/activities :thumb:

I won't miss a thing because I know how pathetic our government is and how they won't have the wherewithal to police such a massive undertaking. In 30 years on the war on drugs they have failed to do anything but look ridiculous and waste 1 trillion dollars.

Mods and accessories will still be openly available and legal just as paraphenalia has been for the past 3 decades, they will just need to be labled differently. Liquids, we will most likely have to diy but all the ingredients used are already FDA approved and the deeming regulations hold no power over them whatsoever.

I write once a week. I keep hammering at them.

I will keep hammering at them. Maybe one will get through....
I will be keeping up a steady barrage, there are a lot of Congressmen, State Reps and Senators that I will be forwarding my email to, just some of them I have to use a different zip to get my email thru since I am not in their district:sneaky: I can spare 10 min plus a week;)
