For five years before what I do now, I used to deliver aircraft parts. I smoked like a freight train all night long while I was riding. I know my truck smelled like an ash tray.

Now I'm a material specialist at a helicopter base. Before vaping, I was probably taking a break every hour on the hour to smoke. Of course I can't vape around jet fuel or chemicals, but my office smells good.

I work 12 hour days as a cardiology nurse. I didn't smoke at work. I smoked on the way to, and then a violent burn to the filter on the drive home plus another when I got there. Smoked more on days off. I have kids so it was secret. I started smoking do to stress, and didn't smoke for a very long time, but it become my coping mechanism. I switched to vaping exclusively during the new year. I now vape in secret, though it's easier than with smoking.

I work as a translator in my work in the office. Our office is at the 18th floor. (imagine if I want to smoke I have to ride the elevator down to the 1st then goto lobby then out of the building then to the small park to smoke then back again... more or less it would take me more than 15 minutes to do this just for a smoke.)

Now that I vape... I can vape anywhere I want... (not in the office...where i work of coarse... ) either I goto the toilet if I want smoke when I vape, OR I STEALTH VAPE.

Tobacco, alcoohol, prozac, other stuff.... one way or the other, some 50% of the population is overstressed... how about addressing this instead of banning vaping?

Totally. I don't get the whole nicotine is a gate way drug. Top me it keeps me sane, so I don't go do something Crazy or illegal. To me, alcohol is a worse evil than nicotine. Nicotine to me is like coffee. As long as I'm not smoking cigs, I figure it's ok.

Smoking was a gateway to vaping. They got it backward!

High school theatre teacher. I worked as an actor for 15 years before teaching. EVERYBODY smoked. A producer I worked for did a show every year, and she would make her entrances with smoke trailing from her nose and mouth. She was asked once for an interview how she got into character. She said, "I put out my cigarette and walk on stage".
It was more difficult when I started teaching. I would drive around the block during my conference period and lunch, or make myself small inside my truck to smoke on campus. Now, I just go into the dressing room or any number of places in the theatre where nobody goes but me. Much simpler, and the range of my singing voice has expanded on both the high and low ends. Win Win. :)

I'm a commercial real estate analyst and work in a high rise building in the city on the 25th floor. I sit in a cubicle (1/2 high....so not private) surrounded by like 150 other people (so I can't vape at my desk). There's a fair amount of smokers though, and we just venture downstairs, and go smoke on the sidewalk.

On a sidenote, it's kind of funny because there are signs on the building that say "smoke free zone". But it's kinda a joke. You can't enforce people smoking on the street in a city. So everyone still smokes right outside the building anyway. There are garbage cans, but no specialized 'smoker's friend' kinda of ashtray/disposal receptacles for the cigarette butts. So the building's janitorial staff spends a good amount of time outside, sweeping up all the cigarette butts littering the ground. One of them is a really friendly, elderly Black man. We always chat. It boggles my mind that he can just be humming and sweeping, right along side of the smokers who just throw their butts on the ground instead of walking 15 feet to a garbage can. I would be flipping out on people! There's better things to do in life then sweep up the cigarette butts of lazy people!

Now that I vape, I have been known to go down to the 16th floor, where our cafeteria is, and vape in the bathroom (it's much larger and anonymous than the bathroom on my floor). Even when I do go outside with my smoking co-workers, I feel great that I'm not adding to the pile of cigarette butts on the ground for our poor maintenance staff to sweep up. Plus I smell better too (I used to always feel paranoid that my boss could smell cigarette smoke on me before....probably did, but what can they say? Still...it's nice to know it's not an issue anymore!).

I grow grass for a living.
The kind you walk on; not the kind you smoke.
I've been a golf course superintendent for 45 years so I have seen many changes.
In the old days all members and management smoked, drank and gambled to excess. That is just what you just did at 'the club'.
Over the years the atmosphere has really changed in our industry. We tried to promote more family involvement which meant keeping
our vices under cover more. I do not smoke in front of members now unless I know one in the foursome is a smoker.
The golf course where I am employed has been bought over by a college 2 years ago so there are changes in the wind.
They are discussing no smoking or vaping on campus so their golf course will not be far behind.
I started vaping because of my 5 grandkids and being ...... off to go outside in the cold Canadian winter when visiting them and needed a smoke.
If there is a chance to beat the smoking addiction I do believe this vaping stuff could catch on. I'm digging it!!
I talked to my wife of 42 years and we are both amazed that it was so easy for me to stop smoking because the last time we recall that
I didn't smoke was in 1985 when I broke my hip and was hospitalised; morphine does wonders.
So back the question of my new habit of vaping when the snow melts and we open the golf course. I will vape openly!
I'm a product of the 60's and always have fought for a 'CAUSE' and from everything I see we our on the right track and we need to demand our rights.
I've always been against the flow so to speak because of all the BS out there, so ironically it makes vaping more appealing to me.
I'm hitting on my first tobacco non flavor, ROOT BEER and it all that bad.
Enjoying to be vaping, one day at a time.

    Mostly retired Concierge RN.

no more huddling in some hidden corner of a hospital where smoking is forbidden at all most every facility. That's how I first became familiar with vaping a Preop RN at one of the hospitals I had one of my patient's at for surgery pulled out a pretty pink provari when I asked where the smoking speak easy was while my patient was in surgery. *lol* OOOOh what's that? ! so Ed called a friend he knew who vaped and that was last May, we've not smoked since. :)

with a lot of my patients I couldn't smoke to pick them up..or have the smell on me, so smoking was a pain when I was working for sure. Days off, smoked like a "broke stove" as Ed is fond of saying.
