I prefer Japanese cotton pads (Koh Gen Do from Sephora & Shiseido from Nordstoms) because it works great and takes up so little space. I also have a huge box of CelluCotton - Rayon Fibers (40ft) from Sally Beauty Supply that works well but I always end up using the Japanese pads.

Will never need to buy wicking material again as I have so much.

+1 for bacon! KGD works and is super easy, true, but I get a strong cotton taste from it. I'm super sensitive to cotton taste tho, I even get it for 2-3 hits on the bacon, but on KGD it seems to stick around as long as if I were using cotton balls, so I don't like the price for that lol. Bacon took me a few days to get used to, but now I can pinch it as consistently as I could cut a strip off a KGD pad. Just my 2¢...or maybe 3 or 4¢, since I typed so much more than I meant to :)

You can buy enough Japanese cotton on ebay for 10 bucks to last a normal persons vaping for a year or more. I've got a huge bag of it sitting here that I bought in Feb that's about a quarter gone. I find rayon to have a faint wood or some sort of mellow flavor to it, where Japanese cotton I don't taste anything. Rayon does last longer but I use for rtas daily so I rebuild them once a week and I'm fine.

i have used both the KGD pads and cotton bacon

the bacon stuff took a little getting used to i found but when you get the knack of teasing off the amount you need its good and gently roll it into a round wick

the KGD is also good i found it easier at first

i like to rebuild and rewick my kanger occ coils and lean more towards the cotton bacon

the KGD is good but its like putting a square plug in a round hole to me

but each to their own just try different types and stick with what ever you prefer

I've tried Cotton Bacon, KGD cotton, bamboo, hemp (works best for deserts, coffees, tobaccos), SS mesh, silica, ekowool, and several others, always find myself moving back to just plain ole Walgreens Green Label Brand Organic cotton balls for everything but my tobaccos, and hemp wick for my tanks with a tobacco in them.

I mostly use Japanese cotton pads but i have been trying out fiber freaks density 2 in my RDA's and I'm not sure how to describe it, i wouldn't say it's better flavor but maybe a fresher flavor, especially with fruit flavors i can taste the individual fruits better.

But i do find the FF density 2 harder to work with in RTA's, harder to position around juice channels but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.FF is a little more expensive to at €6 for 4-5 grams and my JC pads cost €3 for 200 pads.
