You are losing a member of your family and you have every right to grieve. The end is always heart wrenching. If there is a heaven, I'm convinced it's full of animals because they are more honest and far more giving than people. Take the time you need and be sad for a while.

Thanks guys, just putting it out there helped a lot. I wasn't as emotionally attached to those kittens as I was to the one I lost last year, she was my gal and it hurt a lot. Of the three, Smokey was my favorite but he wasn't the sit on your lap kind. He was somewhere around 12 or 13, I can't recall how much before I retired that the Indy trip was.

FC, you said it as well as it can be said. Unfortunately, I've got a lot of animals right now that are all getting up there (including myself). Other than Jackson, all are well past 10 so this could be a recurring theme over the next few years.

I put Hiachi on Netflix late last night with a plan to fall asleep watching it and catching the end in the morning. I ended up watching the whole thing and crying my eyes out. Really a good dog movie.

Enough on that.

I'm feeling a little guilty still about bringing the puppy into the house. Tigger is still staying upstairs and won't come around the dog. It's partly our fault too because we have a gate at the bottom of the stairs because we don't want the dog upstairs chewing stuff. However I have seen the cat jump the gate once. He used to come in the living room and sit with the wife at night sometimes but hasn't since we got the dog. Sooner or later the gate will come down and the cat will have to figure out how to get along.

Tigger can easily jump that gate. I've seen mine clear 4 feet with no effort. There's a child gate on my bathroom to keep the dogs out of the kitty litter (don't ask why my BR holds the litter for her cats). They go over that all the time. Your gate isn't keeping the cat out of the downstairs, just keeping the pup from going up. Tigger will eventually get used to the new housemate, hopefully.

Darn, I left a message for Gutter on one of those sites I linked to, I was hoping he'd stop by and say hey.

I keep hitting my snuff now and then, just when I feel a need for a bit of a nic jolt. I love the mentholated raspberry I'm currently using, I think it's ozona but I put it in a snus can so I'm not exactly sure.

Starting to feel like fall around here.

Sad day for me, boys and FC, I am 97% sure I am done with my schutzhund club. Apparently some members of the club were miffed about the training I did last weekend (silly me, I thought at the age of 39 I had every right to spend my money to learn what I chose) and one even said that I had been with withholding training information from him (just plain NOT TRUE, I've done nothing but help him). It turned into a screaming match and I left.
