Welcome to MI. It's not going to stick, but I was still surprised waking up this morning.

If I could convince GM to move the shop up to Alaska I'd be happy, sweating out the summers is rough. I'm looking forward to our new Trim shop starting next spring. Supposedly climate controlled, it was probably about 75 there during my tour this summer on a 90 degree day. No machinery running at the time so it'll most likely be a bit warmer than that, but better than the weeks of 110 degree days.

We're looking about the same today. It's a couple weeks too early.

Hi all, I am buying a LARGE order of snus today, and I'm happy about it. Haven't even got my paycheck looked at (I should) but I am buying several hundred dollars of snus, this I know.

I really like Odis snus but I got me some "extreme" portions (one tasted like perfume the other didn't) and I had my first REAL nicotine overload experience which SUCKED, tingling all over wanting to throw up, the shivers, dizziness light headedness etc. It kind of double sucked because I was talking to a patient and well, I couldn't spit it out and then collapse to the floor, I had to carry on like everything was FINE and whatnot. That stuff is RELLY strong.

I am thinking I do not need to go EXTREME, perhaps. LOL.

My work week was nuts in all the wrong ways and an IT guy I am convinced is trying to get me (I am not kidding about this he has broken all he has touched) killed my mobile hotspot by snatching the phone out of my hands, messing with it, then telling me it was "unusable anyway" which another guy came by and told me it WASN'T unusable. I was not aware at that point it was busted, if I had been I would have got him to fix it, like I have EVERY other issue that the first IT guy has touched.

Brought all my electronics home, because I actually trust my husband, not the IT department well at least that ONE DUDE.

So it has been hard, routine disrupted but I got through it and this week was HELLA busy but I'm still happy at the job. Except for the IT dude who I want to murder.

Another SNUS convert!!! It's working so well for me at work, seriously, I never think about vaping and I have thought about smoking this week (not gonna lie) because I have been both stressed and MAD, but like, every time I thought "I am buying cigarettes after work" I just didn't. Still vaping when it's chill (like now) but snus is the BOMB for work.

Glad it is working out for you new snus person. I got by the first few weeks on American General snus and did just fine, although there were times I used two portions at once, but it's cheaper than paying that exorbitant cost with only a few cans. I saved up and waited. Plus a generous person here sent me some stuff to try that was not to the member's taste, and that was super cool because I liked a bunch of it.

Oden ICE is one of my favorites. Thunder rasberry is great too (sent by a different member, LOL) and so glad you found the snus thread.

It seriously helps me so MUCH.

Ecch. I got 103 cans of snus for around 290 bucks. I hope I got a reasonable deal but I think so. It very much hurt to place the order button, there's something painful about it compared to vape gear but well.... I went with snus.us just because they seemed to have the most of what I wanted, for a lower price. I did try a couple new things, but really, conservatively there is no way I can go through a can in a day of the stronger stuff and well.... Even if I did that comes to like 2 dollars and nine cents per day. I used to spend more than that every day on a cup of coffee. LOL or smoking, by a mile.

I am happy I finally DID IT though.... .:)

Waho, I don't know about that Alaska stuff. It depends where in Alaska. When I was in the Army and we completed weather school people were getting assigned all over the country. We were told they were going to also be sending to Panama and Alaska. Almost the whole class got their assignments and there were only five or six of us that hadn't gotten our orders when two of the remaining students got Panama.

I was getting really concerned about getting Greeley Alaska where the average temperature in the hottest month of the year, July, was under 70 during the day and around 50 at night. Then you had to deal with the winter were Dec. and January had highs in the single digits during the day and down to a minus 10 at night before you adjusted for wind chill. I had a 5 or 6 year old Rambler station wagon back then that probably wouldn't have survived in that environment. It would get down in the -40 range with chill factor. I was so relieved when my orders finally showed up and I got the best of all assignments, Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

Congrats on the order Anna, that should last you a long time or it would last me a long time and I was coming from a 2 1/2 PAD habit, although when I had started, I was down to around 6-8 cigs a day after vaping around six months. I don't go thru two cans a week and I'm basically 7x24x365 with a snus under my lip. I'm so bad that I sent a dna sample to Ancestry to find out if I was some minority I could claim and I failed the test. They have to send me another kit. The only thing I could think of was the snus affected the sample. I took it out to give them my spit but perhaps I should have gone a few hours snus free. At least that's my plan right now. I'll go snus free all night and fill the vile in the morning. lol

I don't know what you ordered but I'd recommend using any wet snus you bought first and save the white portions. From my experience, the regular snus doesn't do real well for extended periods. You can find Youtubes on getting them wet again but I found that unsatisfactory. I haven't ordered anything but white since.

Thanks Hitt, it's been an interesting day. I had a list of things to get done- bring in a load of wood and dry it out for burning (not that it's wet but the summer has been so humid that the wood has dampness that needs to be dried by the fire before it's burned), get dog bones and breakfast at the farmer's market, Harbor freight stop, pull the tractor out with trailer to move stuff to the garage and find out what the weird noise was in my mom's 2000 Prizm that I plan to drive until it's junk (84k on it now).

Everything went smooth until I went to pull the lawn tractor out and found the battery was dead. Jumped it and decided to mow the leaves and lawn before continuing my list. Front went fine but when I went down in the area where my sliders into the basement are, it was wet and the tractor got stuck in what is now mud instead of grass. Got the GF down to drive (never used the zero turn), cardboard for under wheels and a couple straps I got over the years that I could run thru the front wheels of the zt and make a loose to use as a harness for the mule (me). Told her what to do and I pulled hard. I finally got it out of the mud and onto the cardboard where it moved quickly releasing all the tension I created and having me slide on the wet, muddy grass. I was down in a flash, wet and muddy. All I could do was laugh and try to stand up on the mud.

Needless to say, step three of moving stuff to the basement got cancelled for a new set of clothes and a running of the clothes washer. Went to looking at the car and I was pretty sure it was the alternator making a high pitched, whiny, metallic sound. I thought maybe the bearing were going. Went back and changed into my third set of clothing and headed to Autozone to have them test prepared to spend the money for a new alternator.

Got in, started it up and the noise started immediately. Started backing up and it stopped and sounded perfect the 10 miles to the store. Stopped at a convenience store to get some Skoal snus since I forgot my can in the clothing changes. When I turned the car off, I heard the sound again. When I got back in and started it, there was the sound again but only briefly. They put their analyzer on it and couldn't get past the battery test because the battery was low. Now I have to check to see when the last time the battery was changed. Too many vehicles to remember if or when it was changed since my mom passed. Nothing's easy.

So I stopped at the bar to watch the rest of the first half of the Redskins game hoping they'd lose and the Eagles could get even with them. Had a couple drinks and they had a cheese steak wrap that got ordered by mistake and I told the bartender to put it on my tab and I'd have it for lunch. The owner had already wished me a happy birthday. After I was finished I asked the bartender for my check and I found out he picked up my tab. It's nice having friends, particularly since the cap I've been trying to delay having replaced came off on Friday. Now I've got to take care of it immediately before I fracture the underlying tooth. Good bye $1,000 plus.

    Somewhere between here and there
That’s way too much work to be doing on your birthday. I got out and raked leaves again and used my new leaf vacuum. I wish I had bought it years ago. I don’t have much yard but have a couple 30’+ trees in the front that drop a lot of leaves. Sorry about the tooth. At some point my wife is going to need two crowns.

Yeah, it was a lot of work but winter's coming and at 71 things take a bit of time. Now next year when I turn 62 I'm going to party. I like this new liberal way of thinking. If men can turn into women and vice versa, I certainly must be allowed to identify myself whatever age I desire. That guy in the Netherlands wants to go whole hog and drop back into his 40s. It's a nice idea and there would be some advantages, but I'm unwilling to give up my monthly SS check. :rules:

Happy belated bday Roth. Sorry I missed it but I prefer to remain untethered on the weekends. Helps me focus on how my teenagers annoy me when I'm trying to watch football. Sadly a Lions fan and yes it hurts every year when they show so much promise only to fail miserably and are eliminated for the post season by about the third game of the season. But there's always next year right? Ugh...

Thanks Anna and Rebel.. Rebel, I hear you but, as an Eagles fan, it's easier this year than most. I had high, but realistic , hopes that the Eagles were back on track even though they had backups in three of the four secondary positions. When the fourth one went down last night all hope was lost. You can only go so far on the depth chart. I had high hopes that Golden was ready to play but probably too soon after the trade.

Ah, okay. Am I understanding that white snus means in pouches and unflavored? I'm brand new to the snus thing. Last week my employer ended my ability to take the occaisional descrete puff. I picked up some Camel Frost at a gas station and it works for me at work so I want to continue.

What I would prefer is to get low or medium nick, unflavored, in bulk packaging then hydrate and flavor as needed. For flavoring I'm hoping I can use the same Capella cupacino flavor I use for eliquid. (I vape only that flavor at 1%.) The tin of store bought worked out to 26 cents a pouch. A bulk package I noticed at site called Northerner got the cost down to 10 cents and it appears there are other bulk deals, in theory.

Does anybody know of sites that offer dry, unflavored snus in pouches, in bulk? I wish I'd appreciated the possibilities with snus before now.

Anna, it's a difference in processing. When you're on a snus web site, they usually have a section for white snus (don't know why they didn't call it dry snus, those Swedes). The taste in regular portions comes on a lot faster. I assume because it is moist. The taste in a white portion lasts longer and the flavor seems to last longer in my opinion. I know in long term storage, the white portions last ages longer.

There are two types of snus- the type that comes in the pouches is called portions. That not contained in those packages is called los (loose). The los is a lot more difficult to deal with, and I'd say impossible in your work environment. You have to bake los (meaning use you fingers or a baking tool to take the loose snus and make it real tight so it doesn't end up all over your mouth and teeth requiring a visit to the bathroom and a toothbrush, in my experience. The flavor of the los is excellent but, well, it wasn't worth the hassle in my opinion. I only used it at home when I had it.

As far as unflavored portions, I don't know if anyone carries it anymore. Somebody was selling a bucket years ago but by the time I heard about it they had discontinued selling it. I think Hitt might know more about it than I. At the time, my knowledge was probably where yours is today.
