Aw those little mistakes. I made one this summer. I got a 1.5 hp Craftsman air compressor when my live in's sister moved. I really liked it because it had a light hose and was easily moved. I filled the tires sometime in the summer and forgot to unplug it. When I did that with my large one, it's real obvious because as it leaks air from the hose it recharges and it's pretty loud. The little Craftsman was much quieter.

I went out to use it a couple weeks ago and noticed it was still plugged it. I tried to use it and before the tire was filled I was out of air. looked in the oil window and it was low. I was so ...... at myself that I haven't even looked to see if it would be worth fixing. It was barely used when I got it. Dumb stupidity.

I have a little craftsman compressor that's enclosed in a plastic housing. My wife bought it for me years ago. It wasn't the one I wanted but I thanked her and have used it for years now. It's got a leak and I'm chomping at the bit to replace it but am going to wait until after Christmas.

Well, the new roof is on and, quite frankly, I was amazed. The US has a long way to go to create home grown workers like these guys. The company I hired has a number of construction teams. The project manager wanted to get my roof scheduled right away because his "A" team was available. His "A" team is a group of Latin American immigrants (legal incidentally), mostly Guatemalans. I think there were seven or eight of them. I never saw anyone work that efficiently.

In a matter of 7 hours they had the old roof removed, the new one on and were doing final cleanup and gone in less than eight. I was nextdoor cutting up a lawn tractor my neighbor wanted scrapped and it took me almost as long to cut it up into manageable pieces and get the tires off. Now being in your 20s helps, but I've watched other roofers and never saw efficiency like that.

It will be interesting to see them work on the siding and capping the trim. That will be a few weeks later as he already has them scheduled and wants them on my project because it's not a cookie cutter project. I'm still looking for an estimate for the front door which we want in before the rest of the house is done.

I haven't tried the white elephant but honey bee is a classic. It's one of very few I've tried that has a throat drip that tastes good.

White elephant is tops, really get that nic hit, use sparingly and don't vape anything with much nic after, I have both sent to me as a samples (10 in all) and White Elephant and Honey bee are definitly my favourites. In fact I put in an order to Mr.Snuff for more but travelling by Royal Mail I will be lucky to see it by Christmas.

I had a similar experience when I had my roof replaced several years ago. My house isn't as complicated and there weren't as many workers but they were in and out in a day and did a good job.

I'm glad everything went smoothly Roth. I had a similar experience when I hired, through a contractor, someone to paint my living room. I could have done it myself, with much swearing and paint drips everywhere no doubt. But I hate painting, really, really hate painting. So I called a contractor, he gave me a price I liked, so I went with him. Scheduled for a Monday morning and right at eight in the morning this little Latin American guy shows up at my door. Eight hours later my living room is painted, no runs, drips, or errors. Serious good work and two coats by one guy in eight hours was amazing. I keep that contractors card around just in case...

How would you describe the scent of the white elephant?

I am uncertain of the scent, I have not quite worked it out but as sure as hell when that powder gets up my trunk Yippie Now that you mention it I will have another snuff of it and think about your question. To me it dosn't have a scent, but then I have tried that many snuffs since I got my samples that I think I may have stuffed or snuffed up my sense of smell.....Simply put its just like having a shot of extreemly potent whisky or rum close to 80 proof. Its not for the gentele folk it will knock you if you not prepared.

Kinda reminds me of molens macuba. It was a pretty plain tobacco scent but had a little clove to it.

I declare late fall/winter has reached PA. Yesterday it got up close to 70 and I hopped on the bike this moring in the high 30s with a wind chill that made it feel like the high 20s. It was fun while it lasted.

Yikes! You can keep the snow. It was 70 here Thursday then colder and very windy Friday and yesterday. Our high was high 40's today. I got the sprinklers blown out on Wednesday and got in one more mowing today. I'm thinking it might be the last one.

FC if it's hitting 28 with the kinds of wind we've got, you're in the teens windchill area. Tonight our windchill is low 20s with 32 degree temps. Need to start burning tomorrow. Brought wood in but need to clear out stuff in front of the FP.

It looks like winter is on the way for sure this time. Low 30's this morning with no highs over 50. I had gone to this small hardware store to pick up some antifreeze for my power washer since I store it in an unheated shed. I knew I'd pay more than a big box store but didn't feel like spending 30 minutes looking for it. It was a bit more expensive than I expected. I went to put it in the power washer yesterday and the threads on the bottle were messed up and half of it spilled out on the ground. I think I got enough in to protect it but I should have had enough left over for next year. I think next time I'll go to the big box store and get a better product. There was only one bottle left at the store I went to and no other choices. I should have known better.

My oldest daughter is home from college this week. It's nice to have her home. She has a job interview tomorrow that will hopefully turn into a winter break job. She will have about a month off over winter break and it would be nice if she could make some money.

I'm just glad I don't live in FC land. I don't mind a little snow but I'd prefer not starting this early, particularly since I still haven't pulled the blower out and made sure it starts. I just haven't been willing to accept that winter is here. It's supposed to be in the 50s later this week so I'll need to get on that and move it to the garage from the shed.

That WTLWM is headed to Hawaii in February. She joined this pool team a couple months ago and announced they had a tournament this weekend to win a trip to Hawaii for 5 days. When I got back from poker, she wasn't back yet on Saturday and strolled in around midnight. They survived the first day and got a bye in the first of 5 rounds on Sunday so was gone again around 11AM.

I saw she was FBing live and checked it out. She had the camera orientation wrong so the pool table was vertical. Then it hit me that she was probably using data and checked that out. Good thing I checked. She was already over 5gb on my 4gb contract but I had 6gb carryover so still good but I had to slow her down.

Around 10:30 I checked and she had it back on and they were up 6-1 and had to win one more for the trip. They won and she realized she was wrong and that only got them to the final. Fortunately, the fellow who runs the league live fed it so I got to watch. They fell behind 6-4 with a gal who I saw lose 3 times shooting. The fellow she was playing scratched on a shot and she ended up winning and the next two guys closed it out.

Not sure if travelling all the way to the State in the middle of the Pacific for 5 days is worth it, but she's excited and I will just have to survive without her. Life is good.

Speaking of women who live in our houses...

Yesterday I was planning on getting the lawn equipment setup with fuel stabilizer and moving them to the pole barn, starting and letting the snowblower run and bringing it up to the house from the pole barn, and running the generator for a while to make sure it'll start easy in the cold if I need it.

Friday, my fiance and her grandfather were screwing around out in the pole barn and lost the only remote door opener. Normally not a big deal right? Except my barn has a fence around the pool which has the man door inside it, with no gate for pool safety insurance reasons. So now my easy 1 hour tops job ended up with looking for the remote for 2 hours and driving to Home Depot for a replacement. Got it programmed this morning after popping off a few fence panels and going in the man door.

It's a running gag at my place that she never puts anything back where it belongs, and it ends up being something I need and turning a 5 minute job into an hour long hunt.

Ok, since we're on the subject of WTLWM. I was getting ready to go out to mow and mine said "make sure you get the leaves that get stuck on the side of the driveway". Good thing she told me because I would have never thought to clean up the leaves. We have a big maple tree on the side that I've already cleaned up leaves from several times. Sometimes I wish we had never planted trees in the front. In the next year or so I'm going to have to pay someone to trim them away from the house more. I did what I could with a pole saw but can't reach high enough.

Waho, yours isn't the only one that doesn't put things back. My wife's trick is to leave telephones where she was last using them when she hung up. I bought a four pack of handsets which just meant there were more to search for. I don't complain about it since I know everyone has their quirks and I'm sure there's something that I do that she puts up with.

Four here too but I always keep to with me, one charging and one ready to answer. Speaking of, the batteries were starting to fade so I took one apart figuring they had those battery packs they used to use where the replacements never were quite as good as the originals. Surprise, they were just ordinary rechargeables. I bought Panasonic batteries, like the ones in the phones, with a better MaH rating than the originals and they were reasonable. Happy camper.

Don't get me started on leaving the phones all over the house haha. We've only got 3 handsets, but I swear only the base ever rings because they're all scattered about the house totally dead.

I can only laugh when she complains about the batteries always being dead :rollseyes:
