A little late but this belongs here.I'm going to build a Lego Mod at Legoland tomorrow. I'm within walking distance of that place. My daughter thinks it's heaven.
Oh and I've seen a couple of Lego employees vaping outside the giant giraffe.
1. I stand by my statement about the Vamo. Ive seen the numbers (watch pbusardo's review of the Vamo, he runs the Vamo on a meter and tests everything). The Vamo outputs very accurately.
A PBusardo Review - The Vamo - YouTube
The statement about variable voltage being the same as variable wattage, sorry, you are just wrong on this. Yes, the two are related but they arent the same thing.
I use only rebuildables at this point. I cant stand carto tanks and I havent found any other tank system that Im happy with. One was mentioned earlier in this thread (I cant remember which it was so Ill go back and look for it tom. so I can order it).
The number one problem with rebuildables is their resistances change ALOT. Both just after you build the coil, and drops relatively quickly a few days AFTER you build and are using the coil. It also slowly drops for about a week or two until it stabilizes two weeks in, at which point its usually time to build a new coil.
The liquid I vape (Melon Bola?) from Good Life Vapor has a 'sweet spot' of 8 watts, with the Zatty. Anything much above that and it burns the taste (you can get away with 8.5 or 'maybe' 9 watts). Anything much below and the flavor is to pungent OR the Zatty wicks too quickly and it floods, lowering the throat hit significantly.
The ENTIRE reason I wanted VW is because, when I notice that my Zatty isnt performing like it should, 99% of the time its because the resistance changed, thus, I have to change the voltage.
Variable Wattage on the other hand, I can set it to 8 watts and NEVER go into the menu again (well, mostly never).
Accuracy of output? Not sure what your referring too, but if you set the Provari at 4 volts, you get 4 volts, you set the Vamo at 4 volts you get 4.6 volts pulsed at 33 mhz. and so on. The vamo was built to a price point just like the Provari. you are getting $30 worth of Mod, no more and no less. Opinions are like A-holes....everyone one has one and so forth. Your statement is just that, an opinion.
It's not that the Provari is hated. It's the fanboi's who jump in with "Get a Provari" when all the person is looking for is a small eGo battery due to budget constraints.![]()
I really agree, but that is not limited to provari users.
More that people don't READ other's posts.
I saw one recently (and it is typical) that the OP was asking advice on a mod. They stated clearly that they were on a budget and did not have more than $100 to spend. And that they didn't want X battery.
So of course, the next few answers were suggesting mods over the $100 mark, with batteries that were in the category the OP said they dind't want.
I think the forums help people but you can' help them if you don't.........LISTEN.
Oh...and I'm not getting into building my own thanks....between grandkids, work and keeping the landscaping at home ok I'm beat.
(Name withheld to be kind) Get a RBA (Find one with good reviews) and that isn't genesis style, Then Just buy a few packs of these https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...cement-atomizer-core-heating-wire-for-electro thats what I've done.
Now if Provape made a bottom feeder box mod of the quality of the Provari, I'd be all over it.
It's already in production......called the Variable Voltage REO.
If there was anything about it that Provari could improve on, I'd be awfully surprised.
other than make it heavier....![]()
Anyway, a provari and a VV reo are about the only 2 "reasonably priced" VV mods I would ever want to own. You have those 2 you really need nothing else. Both proudly made in the USA.
Do I have to justify loving my Phidias too?
I hope not. Your diagrams and help to the vapeworld speak for themselves. Speaking of which. Do you care to share what a Phidias is lol?
$200 is worth the principle of putting out 4v vs vaping like 4v to you?
To each their own I guess but if I'm paying $200 over principle it's going to be something more important.
Where do I find the Phidias? Ive been really jonesing for a BF wood box mod, I've been looking hard at a Bogger Box DNA 20 mod. Im' still open to suggestions though. My new baby bottom-feeder. She's the one standing up. Birds-eye Maple and Mesquite Burl:
