Ive been smoke free for over 2 months now and something poped in my brain.Remember when you smoked?Remember how when you lit up a cig some Nonsmoker would say to you...."You know those things are bad for you!?!?" or "Your killin yourself with those things!" Or maybe they wouldnt say anything but would wave the smoke away with a bad look on their face. They all hated the smell and the fact that 2nd hand smoke is bad for you.

So how now that you vape, act towards smokers and their 2nd hand smoke? Do you not care? try to get them to switch to vaping? or act the same way others acted to you when you smoked?

Please.... Do tell!

Even though the smell is stinky, I remember when I use to smell like that and didn't think it was so bad because I took measures (most of the time) not to smell.

I do show off my toy and go to extremes not to be pushy. I just tell them about this place and say go and read. From that point on, it's up to them---you can lead a horse to water, but you can't force them to drink.

Very interesting question as that is something that I have dealt with over and over again. I would say that the first few weeks I found that smell of someone smoking near me rather good, only because I did still like the smell but really never had any cravings for another cigarette since day one (lucky).

After 2-3 months then I noticed that although the smell of exhaled tobacco was still no problem, the smell of the smoke burning directly off of the cigarette was starting to get difficult to enjoy at all. I would either move or turn to avoid the smell as best I could.

Today after almost 8 months of vaping I'm finding the smell of the exhaled smoke un-interesting and actually a bit annoying. The burning tobacco off the cigarette is just plain nasty and I don't like it at all.

I think it's a good thing that now I realize how I smelled and my smoking "infected" others peoples space. I was always a courteous smoker, holding my cigarette away from people and blowing my smoke up and away too. Now I really wish that all smokers were as courteous as I was. Now I am glad that there are smoking bans in some places, but I still support smokers rights to a point because in some cases I think the restrictions have gone way overboard.

Like that old say about not judging someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...

I was on a date with my girlfriend last night and there was a guy smoking outside the restaurant. The place was packed so there was a line out the door and past the smoker. So watching him smoke made me want to vape.So I stepped out of line to join him. Standing about 5 feet away from the smoker I started to vape away....but then I started to get some of his smoke blowing my way. It smelled so bad I started to think....when I was a smoker I never realized how i effected the people around me. I glanced at some of the people in the line and some of them i could see wer grossed out and mad. Then I started to think....Man why do i have to vape here next to him? Im grossed out by the smell also. I dont smell like that anymore....Thats when it hit me....I was one of thos people that didnt like smokers now! I felt kinda guilty so I asked him what he was smoking....then told him i was a ex-smoker and now I vape. He heard of a ecig before and I let him try mine. He liked it and i told him if he throws his pack of smokes away I will give him my 808 and pcc(good thing i alwasy keep 2 ecigs on me while im out)....He was so happy he whipped out his pack of smokes and tossed em. I told him where to get more ejuice and other stuff. He was so happy and left me with a "Thanx man....now I dont have to worry about the smell and ashes and stuff anymore".

It all just made me realize that smokers dont smoke to offend others but because their addiction. The same as I was when I smoked.

BTW....does anyone have a extra pcc?....i need one now...lol... just kidding ;)

That's what sucks about quitting. I know everytime I've quit, the smell of smoke to me is sickening... I mean, downright nauseating.

Then when I fall off the wagon, I don't even notice it. I am embarrased that I ever smelled like that.

I wonder if ex-smokers are more sensitive to the smell.

But I do admit, I think "Ugh... analogs smokers" But then I try to suck it up and make a point to vape near them in hopes they will ask questions.

I have yet to get any one asking me when I use my mods... but my wife's KR808 with the little blue light looks more like a cigarette and draws more attention.

This may sound bad but I can't help but pity them.I see someone doing something that seems to me to be easy to replace with vaping. This may not be true for that person but 99% of smokers don't get the info on pv's so yes it is pity for those that don't have the info or inner belief to try it just once.Vaping is not for everyone(who smokes) but everyone should try it once.Second hand smoke doesn't bother me much ,smell it more but doesn't freak me out like some.

I have the same reaction, I feel sorry for them that they haven't discovered vaping. And actually my husband still smokes. I got him a little Chuck and everything and showed him all the tricks. I just think he just doesn't want to put forth the effort that I have. So it doesn't really bother me that he still smokes, but I really wish he'd give vaping more of a chance.

I also gave my 5V box mod to a guy at work to try out and a bunch of tobacco flavors. He said he tried it and wasn't sure if he liked it. Oh well, only so much you can do!

For me...I have no preference for the personalities of smokers vs non/never smokers at all. I literally gag at the smell of smoke now, on a person's breath, on their clothes...and when they walk into my office after putting a smoke out at the door...I'm sure they can see me turn green. My daughter told me recently that I was being a hypocrite, because I was trying to blow the smell out of my nose after walking past someone smoking. She said I have smelled like that all her life. I had to agree, and apologize to her for making her deal with that smell for 17 years.

I'm sorry, but I jast can't handle the smell of the smoke. I have turned into the smoking Nazi...but I don't preach, I have converted quite a few smokers to vapers, but I don't stand there and give them health statistics or tell them they stink (well, two people I tell that to...my son and a co-worker LOL)

I guess because I smoked from the age of 12, and it was around me my entire life (parents now vape too..YIPPEE) I never realized just how bad that smell was, until I was free of it.

This doesn't really apply but I figured I'd ask anyway :D

I have to go to Philia in September for afew days and will have to stay with friends.. The woman used to be a smoker but ended up quitting (not her idea)... The guy has always been against smoking and kept on saying that he was "allergic" to it even though before this he used to hang out with me and never had a problem with my smoking so he's just making up bull..

I was on the phone with him and told him that I am vaping and he started on me about it, and I tried to explain to him what vaping was and that there is no way it can cause him any trouble.. On top of this, they moved and live in an apartment complex so even if I wanted to, I can't go outside (the female now acts like she can't stand smoke and waves in front of her face when we've been outside and I've had an analog 5 feet away from her with the wind blowing the opposite direction)..

I am now a constant vapor-er and need to think up something to tell the both of them about vaping and how it is not "smoking" and that there is no second-hand smoke and that they can't even be effected to it, not to mention that they will probably both be waving their hands and claiming they smell it when we know they won't...

What the hell am I gonna do or say?? It's not like I can sleep in my car or afford to go to a hotel or motel...
