I hope the point is your point. That they just tax the heck out of it and that's all. But I fear is that they will do away with public access it all together. That's what I'm concerned about. I hope for all of our sakes that you are right and I've got smoke between my ears...

All of the ingredients are over the counter except for the Nicotine. The FDA realistically cannot prevent an underground from forming. The USA tried with a similar recreational drug that was easy to manufacture; it was called alcohol and prohibition, that didn't turn out so well. That was before the internet. Pay attention, stock up during the gray period if they change regulations. Chose to join or support the underground that these regulations will create. i would imagine you would be able to buy boot-leg e-liquid if the regulations are overreaching.

I stockpile, have about 1.5-2 years worth depending on how much or little me and my friends will vape. I'll wean off if need be since I'm moving down to 3mg after I get through most of my 6mg juices. It doesn't take much nic to make up a 3mg/ml batch but I have 1 friend at 18mgml and 2 others at 16mg/ml so there's where the majority will go initially. One friend thinks she's vaping 18mg/ml but she's actually vaping 16mg and is doing great. To sum it up me and mine will just have to taper off and quit if the FDA ruins vaping, but until then I'm looking for things that'll make it through our weaning-off stage. No need to suffer or go back to cigarettes.

There is another way unspeakable here, just requires a decamp, goves, face shieldsuit and a contact in china. Its impractical to store 100 mg/ml juice takes up to mu space. I know its unspeakable and irresponsible to do so now, but at least start making the contacts in china now. At some point if we don't get set up for it we will be looking at 2 years of vaping max.

As nic above a certain concentration qualifies as hazardous material, it's not just unspeakable and irresponsible; it's also laying you open to all sorts of ways getting your behind kicked into orbit by dem authorities. Check around the web, even minor infractions of the rules regs and laws pertaining to things deemed hazardous material are sanctioned with amounts in the 5 to 7 seven digit range - to the left of the decimal point.... And the Chinaman is far away - you aren't....

Italy's been straight about it - slammed a hefty tax on things vaping. No lame excuses like 'protecting teh young'uns' or 'we oh so worried bout your health'. Vaping's been eroding their take on tabacco tax, so they're going after the vapers.

If you think being addicted to nic is bad .... being addicted to tax revenue is worse.

Means if it isn't banned outright, gubmints are very likely to stick their grubby greedy fingers into vapers pockets too. Regardless of any regulation that comes along with it.

Folks are building hurrican shelters or panic rooms - in the hopes they never need to use them....

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...

The phrase 'If 5 cents tax is all they do, I'm good with that' kinda scared me. Why? Because I remember when it was just a small tax on cigs. And then another small tax on cigs. And then another small tax on cigs..... Ya know?

If they label it sin tax, they can keep raising it in such small increments that before you know it..... smh

I would rather the tax be a normal state tax and the only way it can be raised is when they raise taxes on everything else. The sin tax, I hope to god, is not where I want this to fall under. I wouldn't mind a regular sales tax, wouldn't like it but it is better than the alternative.

Just my thoughts and observations of how they got away with the taxes on cigs.

I am concerned.
As the FDA makes its slow but inevitable journey towards outlawing/controlling Nicotine to the general public. At what point, should we vapors, consider stockpiling Nicotine? And if they do control it, what type of "end run" do you think will be an option. We know that Nicotine, in a sealed bottle, can last two years or more in the freezer.
What do you think?
What do you think we, as users should/can do?

If someone can Tell Me the Downside of having some Glass Bottles of Nicotine Base stashed away, then I'll consider saying you should Wait.

I see restrictions on eliquid and nic concentrates on the horizon, leaving only cigalikes available to most smokers. With that in mind, and nic prices currently low from a few sources, I decided to keep about a five year supply of nic in the freezer. I DIY most of our liquid, at about 12mg, and we use about 10ml/day. About $100 for two liters of 100mg nic is cheap insurance. It brought me peace of mind that I can vape as I want, inexpensively, for quite some time.

I am a member of CASAA and suggest you join, as they are working hard to keep common sense on the table, but the lobbying power of big tobacco and big pharma should not be underestimated.

I have fallen prey to the prior scares in vaping land. I will no longer buy anything in quantity. If a ban happens so be it. I will buy whatever it takes to curb my addiction in real time. If not, I will quit vaping and be done with it. Or go zero. I won't let fear control me.

i am on the fence. i feel like this, but i've only been vaping for a year or so and it's something i truly enjoy. part of me wants to continue on for a few years or so after the ban, just because. i know i can live a nic free life, it just seems dumb it has to end this way.

The reason for the high taxes on cigarettes, was supposed to go toward extra health care costs from the use of cigarettes.
Wonder what the theory behind taxing e-juice will be?
High taxes will drive many back to smoking. Which is what big tobacco wants.

You Really Think So?

I can Only speak for Myself. But Nothing is going to make me Go Back to Smoking. NOTHING.

Once 25 Year, PAD Smoker, has seen such a Dramatic Health Increase, I Aint Going Back.

The frustrating thing of all of this is that nicotine is essentially as safe as caffeine. With the grad work I do, I deal with future public health workers. They are almost universally anti-nicotine, because they are uneducated. I take every opportunity to educate them, but it is frustrating. They don't smoke so they don't care about our choices.

I've already started stockpiling; got about a quarter-liter of 100mg nicotine in my freezer already, and more will be added monthly over the next couple years. It's not at all hard to store; 30ml bottles in a small cardboard box in the bottom of the freezer. When the box gets full, I'll start another, and stack them. Easy peasy.

Nothing the gov't can do to force me back to smoking. Or even make me give up vaping.
