I stealth vape in stores (find an empty aisle), restaurants (blow the vapor out under table), smoking areas with friends, at home, my car, other peoples homes after asking permission, and just about anywhere people are spaced out so that they don't have to be exposed to what could be considered smoke by the uninformed.

I don't vape in peoples' faces or in closed, tight spaces. I'm considerate, but I let people know what the ecig is and most people I come into contact with know what it is and don't mind.

Some juices have a strong aroma in the exhaled vapor. If I'm going out I choose a mild juice that doesn't produce strong pungent aromas.

I think we all need to vape more openly and definitely NOT in segregated smoking areas. If we ever want vaping to be accepted as safe and harmless to others, then we need to ACT like it is safe and harmless to others. Perception is reality. If the perception we present is that vaping is JUST like smoking, then that is the way it will be perceived and it will rightfully be shunned and banned. If we go to designated smoking areas only to vape, then the public in general will have a logical right to view vaping as just as dangerous as smoking.

But I also believe we need to be respectful and courteous to others. If I am in a resturant, I show my PV to the server or manager, explain it and even demonstrate it if necessary and ask if it is ok. I also don't blow big "plumbs" of vapor around but take smaller drags. And if the establishment does not want me to vape there, I respect their wishes and leave it at that. I have vaped in the movie theater many times and I don't even think people notice.

In essense, I believe WE who vape need to all be respectful advocates for vaping, ready to take any opportunity to "advocate" the positive nature of vaping. Hiding in dark corners and hanging only with the smokers will lead to segregation at best and more than likely out right bans.

Vaping is something that I, personally, would only do in areas where smoking is acceptable. If I'm in an area where smoking is not allowed, I won't even vape. Some e-cigs look too much like analogs, and the vapor produced can look like the real thing. I would hate to have to explain myself for doing it where smoking isn't allowed. Just my honest opinion ...

I share your view. I don't think we should flaunt it. It only strengthens the arguments and opinions of the anti-vapers.

I really like your point of view, especially the part about being "respectful advocates for vaping." Even though I don't vape inside public buildings, I have absolutely no problem with people who do. I'm seeing people do it more and more in public places. Just because I don't do it doesn't mean that I disapprove of others doing it.

I vape in my car and house now, where I didn't used to smoke. I also vape in friend's houses if they say it's OK. I'd NEVER do that, even if I got the okay, with smoking unless they were too. I vape in restrooms, and in outdoor no smoking areas, but I keep it discreet. Otherwise, I only vape where smoking is allowed.

I'm (just) old enough to remember being able to smoke just about anywhere -- stores, malls, bars, etc. -- and even then, I didn't smoke in indoor public areas. It just seemed rude. So I guess nothing has really changed.

I'm in agreement with most here. I will only vape where I used to smoke, with the exception of I now will vape sitting on my couch and at the kitchen table when working or paying bills. I tried "stealth vaping" at work. No one noticed but when people started asking what the "smell" was I stopped and now just go for a walk outside. I don't have a need to vape walking through Walmart or standing in the checkout line at the grocery store. Doing that I believe we are only asking for trouble and the bans and regulations will start all over over again. I don't want to contribute to giving vaping a "bad name" before most people even understand what it is what it means to all of us that have finally been able to break free from analogs.

I use an auto 808 when I am outside, however it is stainless steel (usually...I also have a couple of white batteries) so even though it is cigarette shaped, it really can't be confused for an analog,
I'm not looking for confrontation nor am I looking to offend anyone, but I will take the occassional vape in a store if shopping is taking too long and definitely in a public restroom, if I desire.
I vape in my house, in bed before going to sleep, in the close proximity to neighbors and friends while talking outside (whereas with analogs I would automatically step back 5 or 6 paces),
I've even taken a vape or two in restaurants and bars,
For movie theaters I have found that the black caps that come with 901 carts fit perfectly over the LED on the end of a 510 or 808 and stealth vaping in the dark is no problem, I keep one with me in my e-cig case (hard eyeglass cases work perfect for carrying around your 'kit' with extras,
I've yet to try vaping in the outdoor areas of Starbucks where they have recently made it illegal (I love that,,,'illegal',,,it's not against the law, just against Starbucks policy) to smoke in California, I'm sure that the next time I feel like buying a cup of coffee and reading a paper or computing at my local Starbucks I will take out my PV though, I haven't been back to a Starbucks however since they made it against their rules to smoke outside of their establishments. ...... me off and I haven't been back.
If by chance, someone would object to my public vaping I would more than likely explain it to them and show them the unit but then stop vaping in their presence or establishment,
When I visit people in non-smoking homes I would never vape inside but feel very comfortable stepping outside the door and vaping knowing that there is no odor or second-hand smoke to bother anyone,

I too have found that I don't need to vape as much as I used to 'need' to smoke, I often chain vape, however I can also go long. long times without vaping,

I vape anywhere that I would have smoked when I first started smoking. That was in 1973. So that means everywhere except Church, elevators and peoples homes that don't want me to. If I'm at a bar or restaurant and they ask me to stop I will respect their property rights and get up and leave. (If food has been ordered and not served I don't pay for it. I will pay for any thing that has been served. ) I don't stealth vape. However, I don't flaunt it with 100% VG looking like a 1880's train either.

I don't mind questions, I don't mind explaining. I vape anywhere, until a couple days ago, I found a situation where I didn't have the balls to try it.

I accompanied a friend to court, and when the Judge walked in, I could feel the PV jumping in my pocket "DO IT, DO IT!" it said, but no, I have to pick my battles, and I wasn't picking that one!

I vape the same way as if I were still doing the analogs. I vape at home, in my car, and outside in public as long as I am not offending anyone. I don't vape in restruants, in church, in the mall, or inside any building, and if I am at someone elses house I explain my pv and how it works and ask if they mind if I vape Even when I vape I always consider the other persons feelings.

I don't really treat vaping like smoking because it isn't. It does none of the objectionable things that people complained about with analogs, so why should I stand with them? No need to wave the air and blow smoke away because it isn't smoke. No need to cover your face in fear of second hand smoke because there isn't any.

I've done it occastionally- whip out my pv around smokers. 9 times out of 10 they ask me about it.
