I just call them like I see them. Of course I've been moderating and administering Forums, IRC and chat servers for over 15 years. hell closer to twenty-- I started back on CompuServe and Prodigy and am ashamed to say that I was an alpha tester for AOL (but wth it was free internet access)

I go back to early Prodigy myself (from CompuServe) .... what I see is that when someone is handled incorrectly at first, then the complaints tend to stem from the first injustice. And I've seen that from both sides as well..... There are 'chronic complainers' - always were, always will be, ....then there are others that weren't, and were changed by incompetent, biased or mistaken moderation.

Waiting 2-3 minutes for a page with very little content to load and thinking it was great.
Not understanding why anyone would need more than a 28k modem.

Nope, I don't remember those days at all.


I actually went from 28.8k to 56k without ever bothering with 33.6

We really are 'spoiled' now I recall those 'wait times' - nothing like a slow load here, which is quick in comparison. ... make a sandwich, bathroom, check out the ballgame... and if it involved a graphic - read 'War and Peace', go for drive..
