No doubt that some low forms of animals have somewhat evolved. But, I'm a strict Creationist, Jane. God created the universe, the planets, the suns, the animals, humans, etc. That's what I strongly believe.
Creationism is based on faith. Evolution is based on wishful thinking.
Then I'll (metaphorically) take the "are you serious" out of my previous post. Being a believer in science, I don't get it, but that's okay. My feeling about religion in general (I'm a cultural Jew, not a religious one) is "whatever works for you is fine as long as you don't use it as an excuse to hurt someone else." Unfortunately so many people these days do use their religion as justification for abominable behavior. But that's on the person. If God exists, I don't believe he could possibly approve of such behavior.
Hi Jan. That's a New England Patriots helmet. They lost the AFC Championship game to Denver today, but I'm happy that they got that far in the playoffs.
Jane, I agree with you and my religious beliefs are not and never have been used to hurt others. That goes against the Commandments.
I have heard that many Jews stopped being religious Jews, because of the Holocaust. They felt that God had abandoned them, that he should have sent his Angels to strike down the Nazis. It's true that God didn't send his Angels, at least not directly, but he did send the Allies, British, Americans, Canadians, Russians, etc.
It has nothing to do with the holocaust. I was raised Reform which is Judaism as a community. I don't take the Bible as a work of non-fiction but as an important, philosophical work.
Aw, I see, Jane. I had a friend who was a Reform Jew. Actually he was a psychologist who I saw when I was having severe problems with anxiety attacks. He did believe in God, the Torah and the Talmud and he kept the holy days.
