It was Hugh's idea to do the faceplant and, when he stood up, he did a little arm flourish that is practically patented Hugh -- he's been doing it at least 20 years when he enters on talk shows to acknowledge the audience. It is so rare for him to break character and let "Hugh" show onscreen instead of "House" that it annoys me when it does happen.
