Another suggestion as to where to buy here in the US in Clubsnus.com... We have the fastest shipping and awesome deals. If you want something you don't see on the site then let me know and I will get it in stock for you.

How do you see the Pact Act affecting your business?

A number of places to get snus in the US. The most popular are the two below. There are a few others but this is a good place to start

Get snus at GetSnus.com

Northerner. Buy Swedish Snus & Snuff Online. The Healthy Smokeless Tobacco Alternative

As far as a pure tobacco flavor goes the two I can recommend are Ettan and Grovsnus. Ettan is a nice mild flavor with and almost buttery undertones. Grovsnus is a bit stronger but still smooth.

A good one for beginners is Lab 01 or 02. 01 is 8 mg nicotine per portion and 02 is 13 mg. It's a mild flavored tobacco with some nutty undertones. Strongly suggest starting out on the low nicotine side to start with and go from there.

The first thing new users notice with Swedish snus is salt. Almost everyone says there is to much of it. No need to worry. After a few weeks the salt fads to the background and you start noticing other flavors. Of course when you get into flavors everyone has their own opinion. No doubt other characters will show up with theres.

Thought I'd check in here. Stubby, thanks for the links. I ordered from getsnus and now have an order in on the northerner. I'm liking the licorice snus - I bought three different kinds. Also picked up the ettan and Lab1 from recommends here. The ettan has a great flavor for this beginner. Haven't tried the Lab1 yet. I have some LD 'black portion' coming and some other stuff - eucalyptus, and a few other 'herbal based'.

I've been addicted to Norway's Lackrol candies (I noticed that northern sells them as well! ) and my favorite is a licorice/menthol - they are also salty which I like so I'm wondering if anyone has run into a licorice/menthol snus? I check many places with google and didn't find any. Not even a licorice mint. And not any just menthol snus....

Without having surfed the whole forum here - do people use lorann or other flavorings to add to their snus. A link would be good if there's one available.

Thanks to all that I've read already - lots of good advice and recommends.

Hi Kent, great to see ya :). The Lab series is really good straight tobacco flavor, low salt, good stuff...snus. One of my "A" listers. And yes, Lorann flavors work fine for flavoring snus. The consensus by those who use additional flavors say the oil based flavors work best, since the PG based ones tend to lose flavor faster. Hope that order comes in soon. If ya get a chance, join us here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...whats-under-your-lip-your-nose-right-now.html. It's the "water-cooler" chit-chat stuff. Just a darn good way to kill some time. Your friendly manner is a shoe-in and you'll probably know about everybody there.

Victor, it was on your recommend that I picked up the lab1 :) I'll try that as soon as the ettan wears thin. And hey, what's the pop off top on the top for? Storage, I'm guessing.... or that's what I've been using it for :)

Wow - good to know on oil base - I have a few of them that I can only use a toothpick dip to tint the ejuice - ginger, cappuccino and a few others - anise... and a coffee I think. I got some of the 'wine and dine' unflavored snus with that in mind but hadn't checked the exact methodology on it yet. They're coming from Sweden so it will be a while. getsnus didn't have LD black/licorice.

I'll give the 'what's under your lip thread'... when I can. Taxes and spring cleaning/landscaping will be taking up some time. Appreciate the invite.

On another note though... I've seen the mention of snus adding the 'tobacco alkaloids' and am wondering what they are - not from a safety point of view but perhaps biological/neurological on what they are actually affecting. I've put on about 5 pounds - not bad for 9 months, but I don't want it to get out of hand and was wondering if the alkaloids may have something to do with the appetite suppression that comes with smoking. I still feel as 'focused' with ecigs and the vapor is a relaxing part for me anyway. Just wonder what effects other than a good taste do people consider are being added with the snus. And again, if there's a link, that would be good. I could search google and probably will but if there's a shortcut that you (or anyone knows) it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The alkaloids cause the calming, focused side to smokes. I've alway had a problem with anxiety and depression. Coffee and smokes are what kept everything in check. About a month after I switched to PV's I started to sink into a very dark world. DVap did a lot of studying-up on tobacco and nicotine and found that in the eliquid making process, the nic is stripped of it associated alkaloids that act as maoi's. He made a batch of purified eliquid that still contained the alkaloids and sent it out to a few of us to try. Within 24 hours my cloud lifted and I rejoined the rank of the living....amazing stuff. Further study led us to the safe world of Swedish snus to get the needed alkaloids. Click on my avatar and go to my "user notes". The first note section gives a little more detail on DVap's work.

As to the appetite suppression, I really can't say for sure. I had lost my appetite while being in my depressive state and now it's as normal as when I smoked. Then there's Kitabz, who gave up all nicotine products last year, gained a far amount of weight and started using a combination of vape, snus and snuff for weight control. I just don't know and I wish I could be of more help. Give it a little time and see how things go. Hopefully, you'll find that snus puts you back on track. Be sure to let us know either way what you find :).

I'll second TV on the alkaloids. I vaped for seven months but was unable to avoid smoking at least a few cigs a day. Over time the few got to be a few more. Thats when I picked up on snus which removed the need for smokes completely. So many flavors, so little time to stock the freezer with cans and the wine refridge with e liquid.

Vic,

Thanks for the links. Just spent over an hour reading ;-) I think I get it mostly. Trying the Lab 1 right now. It's a stronger tobacco flavor than the others but it tastes good. I have about 9 eliquid flavors going, so I like the variety, although the Catch White portion licorice is a favorite so far - I like the original 'wedge' form with that one - I know you can 'readjust' the others ;-) but it's a nice fit for me. It seems a tad less wide and perhaps a bit longer. Can't wait to get the stuff from Northerer.
