I was a snus newbie a couple months ago, but after reading the posts on this forum I decided to try a General 4-Pack Sampler - White Portion. It's a great way to get your nic when you can't vape, and the sampler is the way to start. smoke free since august and feeling GREAT!!

radwor, is that your snus showing in your avatar?:D

Definitely not, she is now 17 and looks nothing like the pic. And unlike her brother she has never used tobacco. He and I both quit last august with the venerable 510. He is strictly a KR user now, after smoking on and off for about 4 years. I on the other hand require a bit more, since I smoked 1-2 packs a day for at least 30 years.
As long as that's just missing teeth on the bottom row and not a snus portion then!:D

i love that vaping is such a family hobby now... i got my sister off of cigarettes..she now vapes 401 exclusively and she says she's lowering her nic content in stages and will eventually be completely nicotine free!

but i love nicotine so that's not for me :p i also got an uncle onto the KR and he quit a 40-year 2pack/day habit with his KR!

The only snus I liked was Camel snus. I tried quite a few swedish brands but they were all nasty. Camel makes excellent tasting snus. My favorite is "Frost."

Camel snus is too much like candy for me.... that's the biggest difference between American and Swedish snus.

American Snus is sweetened, and that added sugar masks the true taste of the tobacco.
Swedish Snus is more salty, which helps bring forth the true flavor of the tobacco.

I still have a few of the free tins of Camel Frost, which are used to hold me off until my next order of swedish arrives... but I'd rather just chew some wintergreen gum than use Camel Snus :pervy: Camel also doesn't have nearly enough nicotine in it, and the pouches only last about 20-30minutes for me.

IMO the one thing that Camel Snus does have going for it, is the size/shape of the pouches. The longer pouches fit more comfortably in my lip than the fatter, more pillow-shaped snus. just my $0.02, but to each his/her own!

That's the main factor, the taste! If ya like it you can use it! If ya use it, that's one less chance for a smoke!!

Taste can also be an odd thing with snus. General rule of thumb is if you don't like the taste put in the fridge and try it again in a few days. You may find that what you didn't like at first is not so bad the second time around. A few portions later you may actually start to like it.

Doesn't work for all of them. Nothing is going to get me to like GR#1 or #2. I can live without the juniper, but other snus grew on me, even the dreaded bergamot. Can't do it all day but one a day is good. Lots of flavored snus out there to give a try. Some of them quite similar to camel frost, but none as sweet.

Thunder frosted minis
General mint minis
General Wintergreen
LD Black (licorice)
Mocca pomegranate

And many more.

Happened to me. Being a noob, I stuck with Mini Mints and Frosted Minis the first few days. Then I tried a General Onyx, and even though I toughed it out for 30 minutes or so, I thought I wouldn't be using it much, if ever, because the strong citrus flavor was too much.

A few days later I tried another one and found it to not be as bad as I thought. Now I enjoy it, especially when drinking beer...:D

Wow am I glad I found you guys lurking around here. I've been out reading myself mad in other parts of the forums and can only seem to find the "miracle" stories of people who gave up their smokes after the first vape. I guess I'm not that lucky. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving my 808, but after a month keep drifting back to my Marlboro Lights. It's very eye opening to see what other options are out there... I think I'll pick up a tin of the Camel (don't hate me) to tide me over until I can get an order in and see what all this fuss is about.

So this is where all the bad boys hang out. Heck after seven months I was beginning to think I was one of the few that vaping wasn't working for. At least totally. First I found snus thanks to TB, then I stumbled into here almost by accident.

I'm just starting my second ten days without a smoke and feeling real good about it. I found Camel right after I placed my order with Northern so I've had both the Swede and American versions. Prefer the creators, but not totally negative about Camel either since the got me off smokes.

Glad I found this out of the way location. I do like to keep track of the e cig news, but I'll learn more about what's helped me most here.

I'm so slow. It took me almost half a day to find what I was looking for in Amsterdam.

Take heart, roth. Snus does work...and combined with a casual vape for relaxation, life is more than tolerable. And to leave ya a trail of bread crumbs...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...whats-under-your-lip-your-nose-right-now.html... the gathering place to lay it all out, what you're snusin', snuffin', vapin'...or just what's on your mind. Glad you found us :).

Another suggestion as to where to buy here in the US in Clubsnus.com... We have the fastest shipping and awesome deals. If you want something you don't see on the site then let me know and I will get it in stock for you.

I'll vouch for Club Snus | Fast Delivery in the US!. He's on the "A-list" for customer service in my book :).
