Who else doesn't miss bumming cigarettes?

I rolled my own smokes and did not put a filter in. I thought nobody would ever bum a smoke from me. Usually what happens is someone asks, can I bum a smoke. I would say I roll these and lick the paper closed. They would say never mind. I was mortified when I once got a response saying so pass me one...
I was a bartender for MANY years (23) I can not even begin to add up all the smokes that were bummed off me! LOL

I used to tell them that I only had enough to last me to my next pack...not many figured it out amazingly. Then I had the ones that said "I'll buy you a whole pack"...so I told them to go buy it now and I would give them the whole pack. Yeah...I was an azz...but I would go without before I bummed...its just not me.
We were playing an outdoor festival once and so I leave extra smokes across town in the motel room to go do a quick sound check. One thing leads to another and next thing I know it's time to hit the stage, and me with a half pack of cigs.
Not much later I'm out of cigs, all stores within break-time walking distance are closed, and the two members of the band who smoke...agghh smoke menthols. I also found the sound man we were using and everyone else I could hit for a cig smoked menthols.
Good night for playing. Bad night for smoking. Couldn't even bum one. Well, I did one but took it 1-2 puffs at a time and carefully snuffed it out. Oh e-cigs, where were you then?!

yes i was always the person who never ran out of cigs...never, after a while it becomes very irritating to keep on bumming out, i know 3 kids who everytime i c them the first thing out their mouth was hey maan u have an extra cig, now everyone wants to try out my ecig....gotten into the habit of just saying no.
When i get around other vapors they seem to think im a juice vending maching now! oooh... how's that taste? u gonna vape that whole bottle? drip drip drip
When hubby was in the hospital I was sitting in the courtyard of the cafeteria vaping and reading to pass the time when I couldn't get into the ICU to see him. A guy stopped about 20 feet away and asked if he could use my lighter. I glanced up and said "I don't have one" without really thinking about it. He looked at me like I was either crazy or a real bi*ch for a sec and I realized he had seen me blowing out huge plooms of what looked like smoke, so it seemed like I was just being mean. I quickly said, "it's electric,runs on batteries, sorry." He just looked confused said it was no problem and walked away. I guess after almost a year of vaping, it didn't even occur to me that someone would think I was smoking

.I rolled my own too, and this happened to me quite a bit. Eventually I just ended up telling people they could have a smoke if they wanted to roll it, then I'd offer up my papers and rollbox. A lot of the time they'd just say forget it.
Totally agree. I work in a poor city where bumming cigarettes is the norm. It gets very expensive when your supplying a bunch of people with them. Now I don't have that problem at all and I just love it!
I didn't bum often, and since I smoked menthols, no one bummed me unless they were desparate for the most part. I just love the fact that I can order online, to my door! No more smoke shops or drug stores, etc. Two wks smoke free, I can breathe, and I never thought it could be this easy. Made a good base order to make sure I never have to get to the point of needing a cig again.
I never did the bumming. I was the one getting bummed. LOL. Even a few who NEVER had cigarettes and claimed they didn't smoke menthol would bum one from me. I just could never say no I guess. LOL.
E-cigarettes have more tastes than regular cigarette. Quit smoking depend on people's will, but e-cigarette can be any help.
Too late I guess, but the natural retort is "Nah--I just checked: twenty in the pack, as usual."
Well, I never really had many people bum from me, but I'm sure the people I know are glad that I'm no longer bumming from them! It's just that I'm on a fixed income and by the middle or end of the month it was always a situation of being out of smokes and either having to bum them or, worst case, go looking for them on the street or in ash trays (yes, I'm ashamed to say, I'd pick up cigs from the ground or in the gutter. Apparently I have no pride when it comes to the nic monkey on my back!)
No shame, lookin2quit. We are all drug addicts. The important thing is that we're trying to help ourselves and each other.
hey looking2quit dont be ashamed i'll admit that i have done that before, usually intoxicated but have done it sober too when i was in desperate need and couldnt track down a smoker.
Ditto! It's funny how people would make fun of my long (Misty) cigarettes until they needed one.
I used to be embarrassed if I went out for a cig break and found out that my lighter wasn't working and I'd have to bum a light. One friend and I used to trade "OMG, I forgot my pack" cigarettes but, other than that I haven't bummed one for at least 20 years.
I knew someone in college who used to bum cigs all the time with the promise to pay you back when she bought a carton. She's spread it around enough that it took us a whole semester to figure out that she owed about a dozen of us 2 or 3 packs each and whenever she bought a carton it was always unfiltered Camels.
