I used to chain vape almost constantly ... even taking my PV to bed with me.
I've been vaping and off of cigarettes for 16 months. I sincerely feel I am LESS addicted to nicotine now than I was as a cigarette smoker or as a newbie vaper, although I use primarily 30-36mg juice.
I know when I was consuming a carton per week, it would drive me nuts if I HAD to go a few waking hours without a smoke. I find that as a vaper, it doesn't really bother me if I'm in a situation like that.
As a smoker, lighting up was ALWAYS the first thing I did in the morning. As a vaper, there have been days when the thought didn't occur to me for several hours after waking.
I've left the house to run an errand more than once absent mindedly leaving my PV behind. I never would've just forgotten to bring my cigarettes with me. And, doing without my PV while on a trip to the grocery store (or wherever) really doesn't bother me much.
Yep, I feel I am less addicted and that quitting vaping would be much easier than going cold turkey from cigarettes would have been. But, vaping is just so much more enjoyable than smoking ever was, LOL. For me, the difference is just that, enjoyment vs. hard addiction. Like I said, I don't think it would be a serious hardship for me if I was forced to quit vaping. It would irritate me though, LOL.
Now, it's more of a hobby than an addiction. A pleasure.
