Who honestly prefers the vape from an un-kicked mech?

You say that like it might be a bad thing.... :D

Stripping a CCTS back to brass (and adding a copper button) is a GOOD thing!

Where's the brass? Looks all SS in the pics... nice lookin' device though, especially the price.

Take a close look at photo number 2 in that link. I remember seeing/reading a better description too somewhere but can't remember where. The guts of both end caps use a lot of brass in them apparently.

Nice! Looks great taken down to the brass. Where did you get the copper button? I am waiting for one of these in the mail. I figure I'll leave it plated for as long as it looks good and once it starts to show a lot of wear, I'll take it down to the brass.

I don't use a kick. I work from home and have a plethora of batteries. On one hand with the mechs as someone stated, you don't have to think about twiddling with numbers to "find your sweet spot". On a VV/VW I would find myself twiddling a whole lot. I wrap a 1.0 ohm coil and it suits me pefectly. On the other hand, there is just something intangible and "ritualistic" and natural about using a mechanical. Much like listening to vinyl. But they can be simplistic in the same sentence.

Since getting into mechanicals, I have sold every single VV/VW device I owned. Well, I kept a twist as a back up.

I still have my VV's for work. I need to vape lighter in the heat. If I took my mech to work, I'd probably pass out :D

I like .5 to 1 ohm. The vapor production flavor and th is just incredible at sub ohms. I don't add any safety devices. I feel pretty confident using MNKE batts. I've ventured in all realms of vaping. Straight up mech with ribbon has been the most satisfying to me :)

I cant believe no one has mentioned the ultimate clone for "function and quality" has got to be the EH Pro the EA clone. It has almost 0 volt loss under load and built like a brick .... house! I have my share of high end stuff but I hate to take it out of the house only cause I'm always dropping stuff and I'm afraid I will leave it on a table in a restaurant somewhere. That EH pro is just silly for a chinese built mech. It has solid brass conneections, at the battery it is about half inch round solid brass and same with the adjustable 510 connection. It is in a different league than the sigelei crap . function is an afterthought to them. Another one to throw in the mix is the Smok Magneto , I have an Nzonic and they used the exact same fire system but if you dont wait for the V2 you will have to mod it , the center pin is static.

Magneto is Brass Contacts, vs the 99.9% copper NZonic.

It's a nice clone though...certainly better than the S19

I don't read this all that often - but I feel the vape quality is better straight off the battery. If I set my twist to 4 volts on a 2ohm coil- I feel it's not as good ad my mech with that same coil (although I usually vape nothing higher than 1.5 ohms). I have no idea why - perhaps something to do with pwm? I don't think it's an amp limit thing at 2ohms. Anyway - I prefer straight battery power.
