I think it is rather comical that everyone thinks that lanceq is evil because he doesn't speak.

There are other theories entirely possible.....
1. Perhaps he is a quiet benefactor just waiting for the right time to do something massively good...trolling profiles, because that is the quickest and easiest way to see all of our posts in one place. That way he can measure our character, intelligence and wit without having to plow through the myriad of threads and forum sections.

2. A far fetched theory to be sure, but perhaps lanceq has some sort of disability that makes it hard for him to do more than operate the mouse???

I've actually been thinking this. I just hope he or she finds most of these post entertaining and none of us are doing this to be mean. in all honesty, lanceQ is most likely an inappropriate content and compliance bot, just randomly scouring trough the entire member DB looking for pre-flagged content, it probably runs once of twice a week on a cron job of sorts, this is why it hits all the members... however, this would be Scully's explanation. Mine... yes, it's Mulder's...

lanceq is a bot, or site-sucker, or whatever. It is clearly an automated program, using a username established by a person.

Perhaps it is being run by an e-cig "knowledge fan", who wants to capture everything in ECF as a knowledge library.

Perhaps it's for another of those ANTZ studies, which uses ECF as a research base for all the "health problems associated with e-cigarette use".

Perhaps its a government entity looking to create a directory of people who will need tax bills sent to them when the Nic Tax becomes federal law. It would have to be a pathetically inept government entity....(my apologies, that's a bit overly redundant and repetitious and/or redundant. Possibly repetitious, too. Did I say that already?)

It is a bit disturbing that lanceq focuses so strongly on user profiles (although I haven't seen any evidence as to whether it also visits the forums). Perhaps a bot designed to generate e-cig related mailing lists (worth some bucks!!!)

What ECF needs is a "bot trap" - a page with dynamic recursive links that send lanceq into an exponential wormhole. (Sadly, I think lanceq might find a wormhole to be a comfortable place in which to wander, and preferable to that other type of hole from which it emanated)
