Absolutely............but is the $13 supplier "ripping you off"?

Dependable on the suppliers costs and overhead, the price may be reasonable.
Also, maybe paying a few % points more for a total order it is well worth it ir you factor in CS, shipping times and costs, warranty, overall experience, in-stock items, and the list goes on.

Outrageous claims are the "killer" and gotta stay away.
Prices are set for a reason, overpriced crap is what gets in the way!

Well, I can only explain it like this. Most of the suppliers that members mention are registered suppliers here. That's a pretty good indication they are not spamming for an unknown supplier. And...with 3 posts and 3 links, it seems like a bit of overkill....I mean, if you had 10 or 20 other posts of general conversation and posted the link 3 times, that would seem more "proportionate" (for lack of a better term)....wouldn't it?

And sorry, not trying to single you out...but we are having problems with spammers as of late....so I don't think there's any harm in asking straight out rather than going on and trying to guess. So maybe engaging in some conversations without adding the link every time might help alleviate this concern? See what I mean?

Lu

i see what you mean. sorry i didnt know spam was such a problem here as i am new. i havent really been into the forums except the xbox forums and is the only one i ever really jumped into.

i just read your post about the spam problem and seen a post about needing mods. can anyone apply for this job? what all does a mod do? never got to be a mod of a forum. can you link me to some info?

again sorry for the links. and my 1,000,000 questions and 1,000,000 more to come probably tomorrow when my kit gets here!:)

Absolutely............but is the $13 supplier "ripping you off"?

I look at it this way....if I go to Walmart and see a TV for $200, then go to Target and see the exact TV for $300....yes, I may think "what a rip off".

I think it's a natural reaction to use that term, even if only to yourself....maybe because people tend to think that other unaware buyers are somehow getting "rooked".

But one thing I've noticed here....suppliers who charge much higher for comparable products don't usually fare so well....and word travels fast. And almost always they end up getting bashed for their prices....then it turns ugly and threads on their subforums start getting deleted.

So sure, suppliers can charge whatever they want...but there may be a "price to pay" (by them) for that as well. Just my observation.

Yes buy the tv for 200, but it is a stripped down version of the 300 one.

You get what you pay for at w*lmart..they sell cheap stuff cause its cheap(er)
Check out the w*lmart movie and you will get a new look on w*lmart

btw: I still shop there for some things....hehe

I think the problem arises when you see the $300 TV at target and immediately buy it without comparing prices and features at other retailers. Two weeks later you see the same size TV for $200 at Walmart and now you are ticked at Target for "ripping you off" when you should be ticked at yourself for being impulsive and in such need of instant gratification that you purchased the first TV you saw.

Target didn't rip anyone off, you ripped yourself off...............(Not you specifically Lu;))

OK, I can die now, for I have truly seen it all.................
I am not saying it is true but it is entirely POSSIBLE that some of the things said in the discussion about what modders charge for their stuff sunk in. Do not misunderstand and think my opinions are flexible or that I am capable of changing the way I think.

We both know that is not true.

I have long suspected that you wish to renounce your backward opinions and desire to shift your way of thinking to the more moderate and sensible Elendil brand of logic.

It's OK, come towards the light...................

request a price sheet or specific quote from a rep for one of these manufacturers and you will REDEFINE the term Rip-Off when referring to 100 dollar "kits"... oh and do yourself a favor... find a rep for juice (if you can, lol) i don't want to say too much {prepares for bashing from forum sponsors} but i think 7X markup is about average for what i have been seeing.... and if they are ordering more juices (lower prices)... forget about it...

i mean i got a quote for an extremely low price, about 10% of what most charge per 10 ml bottle direct from the manufacturer and that was on an order of only 100 so you do the math...

one thing to consider is the risk that goes in to placing an order for e cigs/juice some suppliers may have to charge substantially more due to customs issues, etc so.... just a thought from the other side there...it appears to be a VERY RISKY BUSINESS... and also, who wants to order 100 bottles of 10ml, each the same flavor....

as for the initial thoughts on the outrageous claims made.. i could not agree more with grimm...

i am not currently a supplier and was not attempting to "plug" anything here..... but i have been doing an extreme amount of market research and plan to contact SJ to apply for sponsorship if i decide to take the plunge...

PEACE

this thread should stay on the false claims track not get shunted off into a value for money siding...

but many years ago it when like this.. we justify our super high cost by the super high cost of promotion..

this is why some 5 dollar trainers cost a 100 dollars..

what they are really saying is we spent 95 dollars convincing you our 5 dollar trainers are really worth 100 dollars and you are daft enough to believe it..

or at least the argument we use to justify our rip off prices.. he he

even the owners of real rolex watches buy cheaper copies so they can leave their real ones at home.. and believe it or not the copies are just as good..

copy just means copy in this day and age .. it dosnt mean inferior.. value for money is a funny one to deal with..

I take issue with this part of your post. It is not a "rip off" if someone is charging a higher price than their competitors. It's called free enterprise, and you indicated in your post why someone would be OK with paying the higher price. If they were charging those prices and not sending you your product, then indeed, it would be a "rip off". I believe that consumers need to take responsibility for their decisions. In a free market economy, sellers are free to set their prices and buyers are free to not buy from them if they feel the price is too high. The market sets the price, and obviously enough people are paying for the supplier to continue to charge it. If people are silly enough to buy the first thing they see (how many times do we see that on the newbie forum?) then they are the one's acting irresponsibly, not the supplier.

You have taken issue several times with my use of the term....semantics annoy me. I am not going to clarify that its "my opinion" every time... its implied since *I am the one typing it and all.
Its a rip off, it takes advantage of the ignorance new buyers have, its not good business and they need to be called out on it. There is no debate here and I will keep using the term a)because I like it and B) because it annoys you.:D
