I think people are confused... Buying something in the US that originates in China does NOTHING for our economy in the US! All you're doing is swapping money around, it's not actually generating money for our economy. The only way to boost our economy on this topic is to turn the tables & have China & other countries buy from the US!

We used to primarily be producers, now we are primarily a consuming nation. We buy stuff for cheap, and sell it for more, gives individuals profit, but does nothing for our economy as a country.

China does buy from us, there is just a trade imbalance.

The us is shifting from a manufacturing nation to a retail and "user nation" where a huge percentage of components for even American made products are outsourced overseas for manufacture then possibly assembled here. Ironically there are foreign companies that have factories that ONLY assemble foreign components here is the US so they can say its made in the US.

Our nation has over a 1 trillion dollar trade deficit and its getting worse since our manufacturing jobs are moving overseas. Disagree all you like but part of the reason is the unions in our nation refusing to see that their unwillingness to negotiate due to the economy means companies move their manufacturing base to a place with cheaper labor.

If you want to buy American buy from mom and pop stores that overcharge you rather than Amazon, walmart and virtually ALL of the online ecig venders.

Lastly i would pay attention to what the people that live overseas say instead of just disregarding it. Expats of ANY nation generally have a much clearer perspective on their home country. This is from being stationed in multiple countries and talking with many, many expats.

I give credit where credit is due, and this was a very well spoken post. The whole thing. I do not want to be anti-american, but just not pro-american for certain reasons. In the end we are all Vapers that are getting attacked by the FDA. Apparently they would rather us go back to smoking! So american or not, can't we all just Vape along? :)

I like to buy "American" but you can't do it 100% of the time, right?

I fit into that category too. I buy American when I can and I try to look for "Made in the USA" products to support American factory workers and businesses. Sometimes, I can't afford to buy that way. Other times, it's extremely difficult to find Made in the USA equivalents. For most people, even those that put a big effort into it, it's next-to-impossible to buy American 100 percent of the time.

Wow, sneaky! Which foreign companies are those? Like cars or electronics or what? I would be interested to see a list.

I bought a 2007 Ford Focus that as primarily built in Mexico. The other focus we have was built in U.S. Next car will be a Honda. :)

I purchase all my goods from America. Somehow, I believe that they are making something off my purchase. Thus, the money is therefore circulating in the U.S. :) I try to avoid purchasing to many items at Wal-mart. I prefer to pay the few cents more an buy from a grocery store.

I just purchased two toilets online. I thought they were made in Japan but was mislead. They were made in Vietnam. I really wanted the Japanese quality. However, time will tell if these are good toilets. Care for an update? :)

Of course one would like to buy British vaping hardware but no one could afford it. However it would be made by the country that has had the best engineers the world has seen and of course would last a life time. In fact does Britain make vaping hardware? If it does then it surely would be bullet proof.. Going on, I buy Chinese stuff we all do, cars ,TV's, washing machines, computers, and almost every thing else.
I have yet to find fault with Chinese vaping hardware but the juice? I have recently acquired some NY C's finest Moondrop liquid and I must say it is stunning stuff.

This is for sure a good point, and I am on your side with this. For I constantly fight people over this issue almost everyday. I do agree that if you were already spending the money on analogs then you could spend that on e-cigs. It's okay to save money vaping, but it does annoy me the people that go in to vaping only to save money. Then, when they maybe don't, they complain and call the whole thing stupid just cause they didn't save a dime. However, in my situation it is a little different, because I was only a half pack a day smoker. I smoked generic that only cost me about 18 bucks a carton. If you do the math on that you can see how much closer that is to matching, or even being cheaper, than keeping a good stock of carto's, juice, batts, etc. However, it is not the comparison of smoking to vaping I am complaining about. It is all the "Chinese Haters" out there that frown upon people saving a few bucks to get sometimes a very respectable mod. Maybe these are the same people that gave me crap about smoking generic cigs back in the day?

As far as if my Chinese mod were to break thing, well, I just recently bought a VMAX from a vendor that promised to uphold the 6 month warranty from SMOK in house. If it breaks, I send it to them in the states and they send me a new one right back. After the warranty expires? Well, it's cheap enough that if I had to buy a new one every year I would be okay with that. Cause in a way, in the two years it would take me to spend the same money on a Provari, that 2 year old Provari's technology and looks and size may be outdated. So, in a sense it may be better to have things that are more "disposable."

$18 a carton?!

I haven't written on here in awhile, frankly cause I'm sort of tired of fighting the fight (self-proclaimed lazy american). I am a true believer that history shows the little guy doesn't really make a difference. So I will go on with life and make it as bearable as possible by always taking the easy road until I'm dead. Anyway, I just had to chime in on this post and say a few things. Most of the kids, I mean workers, that have these jobs oversea's are happy to have them. I think I know a few unemployed americans right now that would take them too. And as far as the whole "lead paint on toys" thing? Come on, perfect example of how over-sensitive our culture has become. A lot of kids grew up with lead-painted toys and they are just fine and kicking at 80 years old! Before you know it we'll be popping out our infants straight in to a bubble to make sure they never, ever, get sick! With population control always being an issue the last thing we need are people living to be 200 years old.

The Chinese kids like their jobs? Is that why they suicide in astounding numbers jumping out of dorms or hanging themselves?

Remember the words of Ross Perot. Make these free trade agreements and you're going to hear a giant sucking sound of jobs leaving America.
If we bought American whenever and wherever we can, prices would go down. That's the theory anyway.

Human rights are sometimes more important than saving $2 on a $10 item. Plus I wouldn't vape China made juice for all the tea in, well, China. Would you feed your baby Chinese formula if that were possible?
