Glad to hear those success stories... basically from all those stories I have found that we can categorize ourselves into two:

Quitter - Vaped to quit (not the other quitter) hahahaha
Accident - Accidentally bumped into vaping

I am at the "quitter" category.... for the first time in my life I became a quitter.... hahahahaha... and I am happy with it.

I started smoking when I was 12. That's 20 years of screwing up my lungs, including a few years while my body was still growing and developing. I was starting to feel the wear and tear. The anti-smoking commercials they've been playing on TV are pretty scary, too. I'll post a couple of links at the bottom.

Anyhow, I tried the gum, it didn't work. I tried the patches, they worked wonderfully. Until I developed a severe skin allergy to them.

A friend who is a cancer survivor switched to ecigs three or four years ago at the recommendation of her doctor. I did my research, and decided I wanted to switch as well. So far I have no regrets.

Here are those links (they're somewhat graphic):

I tried different medications to quit but truthfully, my heart wasn't in it. My mom then died of lung cancer in 2011 and looking at my then 3-year old son, I couldn't ignore the obvious any longer. 25 years of hard smoking was killing me. A friend who was a two pack a day smoker switched to vaping, as had a coworker. I tried it and continued to smoke for a few months more at the same time. Once I found a kit I liked (Redds from HV in Canada) and good ejuice I quit analogs completely on June 28, 2012. I've never looked back and never felt better. I'm also quite proud of myself :)

I absolutely adore smoking, I love it just about as much as anything else in this world. I had tried quitting multiple times before and had succeeded for varying lengths of time. The fact is every time I quit, I felt like I was losing twenty little friends that were always there for me no matter what. Then I moved in with my then girlfriend now fiance who has asthma and cigarette smoke would just aggravate it. Again and again I tried to quit using everything from Snus to the crappy overpriced 510 batteries at the gas station to no affect. I ended up getting hurt at work and going on workman's comp and waiting each week to see if a check would arrive had me so stressed out I was smoking five to ten packs a day (no joke). My cousin Shred told me about vaping and I was 'Yeah yeah, I've tried those poppycock e-Cigs from the gas station' and he went 'No no no...'. One video chat and one generous loan from my old man who was more than happy to get me off cigarettes got me an eGo kit from madvapes. I had a lot of problems, questions, concerns and I would constantly bug him... In April it will have been 1 year, now I almost exclusively vape on my Vamo with an AGA Tiamat +, I went from 24-30mg juice to 4.5-6mg. I would be amiss to say I started for my health... I started because I had a Hookah that I had recently gifted to a friend and absolutely loved all the flavors. I started vaping because I could do it around my fiance without trouble and the world of flavors leaving me feeling like a kid in a candy shop. Even if I get to 0 Nic I will continue to vape as I love it that much!

My nephew switched to e cigs and completely quit analogs. I watched him for a couple months, and decided to give it a shot. I too had tried hypnosis, meds, and the early e cigs. Once I realized he had really quit analogs, I decided I too could do it. And it was way easier than I thought. I finished my last pack, and haven't looked back. Do I still crave one occasionally? Yeah, but I grab my e cig and take a few tokes and I'm good. It has been over 9 months, and I am so proud of myself!

I started vaping because I was a 2 PAD smoker - light menthol but still heavy. I tried in the past - gum and the patch and cold turkey - always relapsed. Longest I lasted was a year.
I'd been musing about trying vaping for awhile but decided to research first. ECF was a fountain of valuable info and suggestions what to start with to avoid disappointment and frustration.
So far the switch over has been effortless and I've not even thought of a cigarette - the menthol juices I use completely satisfy me and I've had zero craving for a cig. This really does amaze me. I try not to be over-confident - but this may be my solution to finally quitting.
But I should note - the vaping experience is so pleasurable to me - especially when I can get the same effect without the health concerns of cigs - that it's not just a means to quit but also a unique experience in itself.

Well I had smoked for 14 years and was up to a pack and a half a day of full flavors it seemed as the more time went buy the more and stronger my use became I would wake up coughing then lite up got to the point were I would cough to the point it would make me puck had to make a change and so glad I did been analog free for a month and havnt felt this good in years everything smells and taste again best thing since sliced bread

I started after wanting to quit smoking for ages. I started smoking at uni and it was one of those habits that ive been meaning to break but never got the chance. The girlfriend has been nagging me about it for ages and so as an xmas present to her i bought myself an ecig and was promised to quit smoking by valentines day. After starting vaping on xmas day i had quit analogs 3 days later and havent had one since.

I still fancy the odd one but thats mainly because i live in a house with a 80 a day smoker and have visitors who chain smoke when their here. Wish i could make them all quit smoking in the house but its not mine so i get no say

i never smoked heavily, but mostly to relax while having a cocktail or out with friends. i love the whole ritual of smoking. i am also an avid runner and bicyclist, and am now at the age where i can tell the smoking is making its presence known to my body. having a house, hair, and breath that smelled like an ashtray was a big reason to quit the stinkies too.

so i researched e-cigs online (unfortunately i didn't come here first) and got suckered into one of those monthly cartridge subscription deals, and the battery life was short. they also taste crappy when the cartridges got depleted.

luckily, i found this place and the people here have been so nice and helpful in hooking me up with some superior equipment. i am now a vaper forever and loving it!

Me and my husband have been talking about quitting smoking for quite some time now. My heart was never fully in quitting. When we were engaged I kept falling back on the excuse that planning a wedding is just way too stressful. A few years prior we had actually tried a few analog look alikes... And they were eh ok... Then we got too low on carts, placed an order but by the time they came in it was too late. I wasn't thrilled with the electronic cigarettes of those days. Fast forward and wedding is over and we were back from our honeymoon in Europe where we were able to smoke our hearts out everywhere we went. A friend of mine who I do a podcast with had been vaping for quite awhile with egos. One podcast at our friends house he was about to leave because the smoke was making him sick... So like good friends we just put them out and continued the podcast. A few days later we just decided to do it. My husband was able to get up to the V4L store and try some stuff out. I couldn't go because they're not open on weekends, but he picked up both of our kits with some good juices and we were hooked. Then shortly we were able to convert our other podcasting friends to vaping as well. Now there is just our one friend that smokes in the podcast and we're all going strong.

Oddly enough after all of that, I'm the vaping addict that wants all the cool vaping stuff.

Im heavy smoker for 10years.
I got some health issue when i always got a serious pain on my chest when wake up in the morning..like i said,always..
At the early 2010,i was introduced to ecig by local press.im thinking to give it a shot..so i buy a SmokerHaven brand with Regular type starter kit..
But its not working so well...im not get satisfaction from it so im back to analog..that ecig only useful when im entering mall or something..
One day,my fiancee (non-smoker) experiencing some kind of health issue..she blame me because i smoke too much around her..
She provoked me to stop smoking or we'll break up forever (awkward moment :/) but seriously I CANT even i want too..
So im going to local ecig shop n buy eGo 650mAh..
Im surprised...why?this time i got lot of satisfaction with this..
3days of vaping n i cant even smell analog's smoke..when i try to smoke,its taste is YUCKS!
At that time,i just realised,im smoke-free now! (YAY!)
My fiancee is happy,n im much more happy!
My fiancee got what she want,n i got what i want..
To celebrate as smoke-free person for couple of month,i buy an eVic..i got much more vaping experience..
Vaping just become my new hobby..
Until this very time,i got no more health issue n i can exercise much longer..in other word,im healthier..
Thanks to ecig,my life is very beautiful now..

I smoked 1-2 PAD for 30 yrs. The wife and I have talked about quitting for several yrs. Tried the cheap Chinese E-Cig a few yrs back and would quit for a few days and go back to smoking. I bought a Blu starter kit and was down to less than 1/2 PAD, it was lacking but still better than the cheapos. The wife went to the local Vapor Hut and got and eGo twist kit about a week later. I tried one of hers for a day and had to go get my own. I haven't smoked since I started vaping and don't see myself going back. I just wish I would have found this forum before I wasted the money on the Blu, but I guess it wasn't really wasted money because it got us looking at bettter equipment and away from the smokes. After spending $55 a carton and buying 2-3 a week we have already spent less vaping than smoking. The Dr is also happy I quit and would like me to get away from the nicotene adiction but he can't get everything LOL.

Half a pack to a pack smoker for about 28 years. Quit a few times for health reasons, but I was a really miserable non smoker. Once for about 2 years and not happy at all. An other health scare this one serious and every time a quit it got harder and harder. Was about to cave and some of my friends talked to me about trying the ecigs. Hubby came home from a bar with one and I was sold. Cheap setups, wish I knew about this place earlier but I stuck with it cause I knew somehow it was the answer for me. I think I am getting close to the year mark.

And I am pretty OK. Hubby's had a harder go of it, but he smoked more then I did and I am not sure I ever really liked smoking per say. Liked how it evened me out more. I do sneak a good cigar sometimes tho...
