I could be wrong, but this kind of reeks of envy... See the same thing when anything rare or sought after is out of stock or unavailable. The people who can't, won't or don't want to do a little extra to get the item resort to "well... I didn't want it anyway, and you're dumb for having it!"
Also, as several have pointed out, even massive retailers have outs in some things regularly. Small niche businesses are far more susceptible, so it's reasonable that they have inventory or supply issues. They just don't have the manpower to meet global demand in the case of online stores. Again, you can choose to not shop them, but setting a phone alarm for 8am pst to grab some ave juice isn't particularly cumbersome...
