Well, back to the original question... Why do I want a better atty?
Because I want to know what to expect. They are so inconsistent now. If I were to take a 2 week trip right now, I would feel the need to carry quite a few attys with me, because I really have no idea when one will flake out on me. I still have the first two I ever got, and they still work. But I have also lost 5 others in the meantime. 3 of those just died between one breath and the next.
No warning. No slowdown first. Just dead. Multi-meter dead.
Better to me means they would be consistent, and I would know approximately how long they were going to last, and could depend on that. So if I went on a 2 week trip, I could grab a couple of extras and go. Not 10.
I know I'd have to pay for that. And the manufacturer still has to make a profit. If the cost benefit ratio were good for me, and good for the manufacturer, then we'd all win.
