I bought my nic from myfreedomsmokes.com and it's fine. There are other suppliers. From the same supplier I got amber glass bottles and luer lock caps for storage. One of the liters is transfered to 4 250 ml bottles to be used first. Additional nic is transfered to one liter glass bottles to save storage space. I add a blanket of argon gas in the free space above the liquid, put each bottle in a zip lock or freezer bag or two, wrap that in thin bubble wrap with tape and put in the freezer. There are long discussions of long term storage in the forum. Some of the contributors are chemists with technical expertise. Apparently the various chemicals are fairly stable, not prone to spoilage but the nic can oxidize and darken so to prevent that use amber bottles to minimize ultraviolet light exposure, protect from oxygen with caps and bags and inert gas and slow everything down with low temperatures. Nobody can be certain about the outcome but it's the best available approach so far. I believe 10 years is realistic.I'm very new here. Actually 6 days analog free today. I have been reading like crazy here, because I know nothing about vaping.
During my research here, I watched an amazing video, that broke it down with math, exactly how much money people are spending, and how much money it actually cost to DIY your own ejuices.
It was amazing. If you DIY, you can make enough ejuice to last a month, for less than the cost of 1 pack of analogs!
I just can't miss out on a savings like that!
Especially when you consider the cost of buying ejuice for a year. Make it yourself for about $70.00 a year.
So, I have started collecting my supplies, but have a couple if questions:
Where do I buy the nicotine? And it seems like we can freeze it? How long will stay good in the freezer? Someone buys it in glass bottles, is that the best way to buy it?
How long is ejuice good, after it is mixed?
How long are the premade coils susposed to last? A week?
I saw on here to clean tanks in ethanol or iso alcohol, is that what you all do. It said once a week, and let it dry overnight.
Does this prolong the life of the coils/wicks?
Can anyone direct me to a good video that shows how to rebuild them. I am not very technical, but I am a nurse, so maybe I will be able eventually to do my own.
Thanks!
Such a good husband!I do diy juice and build my own coils and use a Mech Mod.. BUT, I BUY premade coils for the wife and her regulated mod. Why, because, I rather her be mad at Aspire and Kangertech, when problems happen, NOT me.
Such a good husband!
And some people suck at building coils or making e-liquid.Some people will pay much more money for much lower quality products and services just to avoid actually having to do something.
I don't get it either.
Society as a whole seems to value convenience over quality.
And some people suck at building coils or making e-liquid.
I only build a coil when I absolutely have to. Hate doing it. Get out the glasses, hands get shaky, and I want to up my nic when building them. (Used to want a cigarette but have managed to get past that....finally)
Edit to add: I only started building coils because the best device that I have found, for me, requires building my own coils.
As far as liquids.. I equate that to people who cook. Some are good at it..some are not. No matter how hard they try, they just are not.
Nice that everyone has options. I Really Hope that those options are still there after the FDA gets done with us.![]()
Hubby makes the pancakesIf you can make pancakes you can mix juice far better than anything you find pre bottled.
Vaping is not a hobby for me. It is a means to avoid smoking. I am doing some DIY but also have a lot of pre-made. There are 5+ liters of nic in the freezer just in case. I like buying nic in glass bottles ready to go in the freezer. I want the same convenience with blister pack coils. I am avoiding coil wrapping like the plague. Wrapping the coils may not be a problem but attaching them to the tiny screws may not happen. Not sure my vision is good enough.
